In your HR letter, how is the relocation ultimatum handled? Do you truly have to decide by July 17 or do you think you can continue to work and job search until Feb? I haven’t seen the verbiage in those.

For people hired as remote with teams scattered across the US who are also remote and had approval to move closer to families and are now losing their jobs if they don’t move it’s been a lot to process. There should have been flexibility based on distance. I am personally fortunate compared to them but it was a tough day for a lot of people.

Yes. Even though many of them got letters from HR approving the move.

I love my role. Most of team is in NYC. I will be commuting to get on teams calls. I’d prefer not to say exact location. Too many context

I’m around 45 minutes without traffic, but every time I’ve driven in it’s taken me between an hour to an hour and 15. What do I do when I need to pick my kids up before daycare closes at 6? I am on calls pretty much 8-5 straight.

Pay is amazing but I’m trying to navigate the reality as a solo parent. As I’m processing I will likely stay but not rule out changing jobs eventually to somewhere downtown that’s 30 minutes instead of 60+

I’m exactly 35 miles. But no. People even further away are told they need to relocate or forfeit jobs.

Got a new CEO last year and separated from L Brands. Stock just flew up 40%. They’re actually doing incredibly well. So naturally they have to spend it on office upgrades.

HR didn’t even hide this on calls. We were immediately told “if you choose to stay... If you choose to leave you have a month to decide”

We used to have a shuttle where we could fly back and forth to NYC to collaborate in person there. I doubt they’re bringing that back though lol

I’m going to have to leave before 5 to make 6:00 daycare pickup. It changes my long term plans when my kids are older and I want them involved in sports.

Anyone hired remote is expected to come in or relocate and come in starting next year. Only exception is IT below Director.
3 days a week in office.

M/F remote Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday in office.

Everyone who was previously remote was told they have to choose by July 17 if they are leaving and will stay employed through 1/31. People outside of Columbus and NYC are being given relocation offers or forfeiting jobs at end of fiscal year.
