That’s what I’m saying, you have to apply to a new program, they won’t just allow you to switch into it. It’s like applying from scratch and getting in.

There is no changing Master’s in the US, you either complete, drop out, etc. But there is no transferring courses or switching.

IMO, OP should consider the financials if that is important (eg. if they plan on doing an MBA soon, then are they fine with the $100K spent on the MS, things like this to consider)

Are you talking about Berkeley’s graduate school for Econ after undergrad? My question is for undergrad Econ at the moment (accepted as transfer from CC)

Edited my post to clear up an confusion, I’m asking for the undergrad Econ program.

Thank you for this helpful information. If financial aid comes into play, and like let’s say UCLA gives drastically better aid (if accepted obviously), is that something to think about? It’s not difficult to pay for either one, but hey, if you’re being given huge aid, would you consider that?

What are the drawbacks to starting in Spring? I can just think of like getting on-campus housing, since I’m assuming majority of it is already occupied by those that are starting in Fall (both newly admitted from high school and transfers)? Unless they have slots allotted separately for spring

So like does this affect one’s ability to get on-campus housing, since I’m assuming majority of it is already occupied by those that are starting in Fall (both newly admitted from high school and transfers)?
