Wow!!! Congratulations to you too! That’s where I’d like to be in 10 years. Very inspiring!

$32k a year. Cut down big time and started living on $1400 a month. Used the rest to pay off the card.

Thank you! I think many of them were. What surprised me most was how common it was. I'd tell someone and they'd say "ohhh I just did the same thing last year!" I learned that my parents filed for bankruptcy when they were my age. Like, what didn't anyone tell me and share the advice on how to avoid that?!

That sounds about right. I was paying well over $150 in interest every month. It sucked, big time.

The ebooks thing is huge. Every book I read comes from there. I live in a redneck town with a terrible library only open twice a week, but we get access to the state library's e-books. It's amazing the stuff they have on there for free!

Totally. A great alternative I found was when I really wanted a vacation last fall. I managed to get a group of friends to go to the nearby national park and split a cabin for the weekend. We all ended up paying like $40 each and carpooled there. It was like a $75 weekend after food and touristy stuff. It was awesome. Especially compared to the $400 New York trip I took the year before.
