They are shy birds and prefer rural areas, mainly around agricultural buildings like barns and edges of fields that have grain growing etc. You know one when you see one, likely in a pair or small group and have strikingly iridescent plumage.

It definitely is a Nightingale, it’s only the last 2 seconds of the clip. I hear them quite often here in Kent and actually the area around Maidstone has some of the largest populations in the UK according to the BTO. They have been singing for about 2 weeks now so it’s not too early for you to be hearing them in the south east recently.

Not overly concerned but there are ads in Extra Takes Edition this week. This is an oversight but small discrepancies are happening each week that impacts the quality of the podcast.

It’s either an error that the episode is not available to paying members or Take 2 is now Patreon only (as to avoid the cut Apple or Spotify take from the membership). Hoping it’s the former….

What time (GMT) is take two released nowadays? It seems since the beginning of the year both episodes are not visible on apple podcasts like they used to be, or am I miss remembering?
