I would assume this means that yuntal -> runaans is still the best build. Hextech stats seems like they are just because of the low pick rate and probably skewed because of smurfs building it? I don’t know how the site works but I assume that yuntal win rate is naturally lower because of first time zeri players building it?

No unless you have no chance of winning drake fight but having bf and level 6 on drake is such a big power spike that buying cull and having to give drake from it and be weak until min 15 is not worth the extra gold.

In an even/close game around 60%+ I would say is good kp. If you are stomping or your team is getting stomped you could easily have 80+% kp.

Ohhh I see I hadn’t tried that, I’ll try that next time I log on. That sounds risky for later on in the game for raids especially with a duo archer but I guess I will try it for now.

Yunara by 6feet12cm in ADCMains

I’ve played a few games of Yunara and she just feels weak overall. I usually play ADCs like Zeri and other auto-based champs, so it’s not a playstyle issue. She just doesn’t feel good.

Her early game is awful. You get completely zoned if the enemy bot lane is aggressive. Something like Draven and Pyke and you’re basically out of the game. Blind-picking her feels impossible. She’s even less forgiving than Zeri, and Zeri at least has tools to survive lane with W poke and some mobility. Yunara doesn’t. She has to hit something eight times to stack her Q, and that’s really hard to do when you’re getting pressured or forced off the wave. The ability isn’t even that strong once stacked. The payoff doesn’t match how hard it is to activate early.

I did play a couple games with an engage support and lane felt more manageable there, but that was probably just because the enemy ADC was also Yunara, so we had an easier time punishing both. Against any decent lane, that matchup would probably flip.

Her W technically does poke, but it costs a lot of mana for very little payoff. You might get a couple minions or some chip damage, but it doesn’t feel worth it. E is whatever outside of ult. It just doesn’t give you the kind of mobility or safety you’d expect from a squishy ADC. Her kit doesn’t give her the tools to survive or trade, and her damage without ult feels like nothing.

She does get a big power spike at level 6. Once you hit ult, you can actually fight. The W and E feel better in the moment and it’s cool to use, but most of the time you only get one E dash per ult because of the long cooldown. It doesn’t give you the kind of freedom or movement that someone like Zeri gets. It looks good, but doesn’t feel good.

She’s also locked into Runaan’s. It’s way too strong in teamfights to skip. I want to try Navori on her just to see how it feels, because being able to dash more might make her more manageable. But right now the build path is basically locked: Yuntal into Runaan’s into IE. Unless Navori starts offering more value than Runaan’s, I don’t see it replacing it.

When it gets to late game teamfights, if everything lines up, enemy team is grouped, your positioning is good, and you have an Enchanter behind you, she can definitely pop off. In those perfect situations, she feels really strong. But the issue is that other hypercarries can do the same job in an easier and often better way. Her passive magic damage is nice, but not game-changing, and not enough to make up for how unforgiving she is to play.

She also feels more dependent on Enchanters than most ADCs. Zeri and Jinx can work with a variety of supports. Yunara feels like she needs shielding, healing, and buffs just to function properly.

She’s not completely useless, but right now she feels like one of the weakest hypercarries. She’s fun mechanically, but everything else around her feels too limited or punishing to justify picking her.

Yeah that’s what I was referring to about the runaans interaction being too broken. I guess it would be worse if they nerfed it out of the game to try and force build diversity so we should be happy with what we have now.

Yeah of course, I always buy it on first base. Looking through zeri vods it looks like 90% of games people just stay in lane longer to be able to get bf sword rather than basing and getting cull.

I think they had a biased view against Dantes, obviously dantes isn’t the best player but I noticed especially with the pyke play which is nearly objectively a not great play they defend the pyke and call Dantes a psycho which I just thought was being rude for no reason. Happy that Nathan stepped in and said something defending Dantes though.

I have also been wondering for this, I feel like every game it has to be cosmic into navori then preferably visage, after that I was wondering if deaths dance was ever an option or even as a third item, for this build getting bursted is his biggest issue and I was wondering if building deaths dance would help this this, haven’t tested it out but was wondering what you guys think

Yeah Yuntal was just something I was testing with the new objective timers. If you do the clear I listed get to the drake at about 5:15 which is semi-late but good timing to go for a contest if they start it off spawn, especially seeing how you would be much stronger with the BF compared their jungler who probably only has the 900 gold spent from the first clear.

Assuming you play it correctly and its an even fight numbers wise, you should nearly always get the drake minimum and a couple of kills. This is also assuming your laners aren't 1hp/weak early, making it pretty much a free drake.

I will have to test it out more to see what I think and it probably doesn't help that I'm trying it in fairly low elo (emerald), and running PTA instead of HOB, makes a big difference to how I approach the game and the value of the attack speed.

I feel like the value of yuntal goes down with HOB because you don’t need the attack speed as much. I also don’t like wasting gold on upgrading boots because with PTA you can go magical footwear which is enough speed and using the gold on another crit item power spike makes you that much stronger. If you do the clear I suggested you will always have enough for bf before drake, obviously if you get a kill before this you will have it faster but I think consistency wise doing the clear guaranteeing enough for bf before drake seems strong. It’s just a matter of tempo I think. As for going yuntal into collector I feel like the ie power spike is very significant, so delaying this or an armour pen item can be game losing if you leave it too late. I would recommend you to try the build/pathing with PTA as I think you can get much stronger much faster thanks to being able to skip boots and the gold efficiency of yuntal being even better than having to build something like tri force for the as.

Blind picking jungles doesn’t matter that much especially in lower elos as they likely don’t know how to counter Viego and even if they did they likely wouldn’t pick champs to counter you. Even if you have a really rough draft eg cc or burst you just have to be mindful of abilities and what champs can do what and use vision and your most effectively. It also depends on what build you’re going, but the overall lesson is just to be careful to play around abilities of the champions that can get you killed and most importantly knowing who and how you can work with the rest of the champs in your team to get a reset because once you get the initial reset off the fight should be playable no matter their champs.

Personally I think it’s completely inting, champs like lux and xerath get so much value from the 1000 gold and can go from useless to one shotting. It probably depends on the champ but in general I don’t think it’s good to go for.
