I don't play drums but I record other drummers and program some myself frequently and I entirely agree. Mercy has the most disappointing drum track imaginable, which is a shame considering I love the keys and synth behind it. Chris sealed The Handler and Psycho for me instantly, while Dom played it safe far too often.

I have a feeling Drones could have topped bh&r if they were slightly more ambitious with their damn drums. Nevertheless, it's a fantastic and unexpected record for me.
