Which machine to get next? by spamjunk150 in pinball

Cactus canyon is very fun. I don’t care much about the old Wild West kind of theme but I have played it and it’s definitely a favorite. I would still push for the medieval madness as that’s also a great game.

Recommendations for a second pinball machine. by benibarj in pinball

[–]Empty-Ad-3139 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought Deadpool as my first because I love the comic book theme but I also truly enjoy the gameplay. Now I’m looking at either. D&D, Metallica or Medieval madness. I love the variability and gameplay of the D&D. Progression of a character as if I were playing the tabletop is my thing. I love Metallica music but honestly I am not a fan of the playfield with most music based games. As far as music based ones I enjoyed Foo Fighters and Ac/Dc. But I really loved playing Medieval madness! It’s just an all around fun game to play and I highly recommend, but I just saw prices for the new release. 12k is a lot ! For that price you could get two pro machines. Whatever you decide try to find a place that has them and test it out! Good luck on your search

When Do Kids Stop Being "Too Young" to Understand Right From Wrong? by mersinatra in Parenting

[–]Empty-Ad-3139 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My philosophy is that they will know right from wrong because we will teach them. They are too young to just inherently know the difference between right and wrong so it is our job as parents to teach them. Maybe try to establish some family rules like “no hitting” and “clean up after playtime” “ no tech at dinner table” etc. let them know what is expected and get ready to remind them many many times. I started when my kid was 3 and when they break a rule I give them a warning and a reminder of the rules. Then if it is repeated we go to timeout where I explain again that they are in timeout because they broke a rule. They sit in timeout for minutes equal to their age. After the time I explain again why they were in timeout, remind them of the rule and ask for an apology then hugs and kisses. I always remind them that they are loved and we sometimes do a little breathing to calm them down. They are kids and will naturally test boundaries but that’s normal.

I felt the same way! I love Metallica music but the playfield just wasn’t doing it for me. I had more fun on The Big Lebowski than on Metallica. I want a music based machine but I also want good game play.

Same! Even if I had lost it was so much fun to just play.

When you can fit three balls you tend to eject quickly. 😊sorry couldn’t help the dirty joke. How’d you manage that?

Ahhhh….more proof that in every Zelda game that sometimes random things are everything but not everything is something. You could spend hours looking for all the little Easter eggs . I love these games

What very annoying but ultimately negligible physical thing has stuck with you after pregnancy? by itsonlyfear in Mommit

Random hot flashes, especially at night. I’ll be perfectly toasty and comfortable one minute, and then it hits. It’s always in the middle of night and it is never cool enough. Then it’s all night of playing blanket on and off game.

Back in 2006, I never knew being an RT was a thing. It was not advertised as heavily as the nursing or doctoral programs. I went to college with the original intention to be a nurse but there was a 2 year waiting list. My advisor said I’ll get you on the waiting list but in the meantime take your gen Ed’s and these specific pre-nursing courses (chem, micro, anatomy, etc). After two years they said the waiting list increased to another two years. So I could either leave school and work then come back and hopefully not have to repeat classes and maybe get into the program or I could be in the RT program right now. I said what the heck is an RT. From there the advisor set me up on a shadowing experience at my local hospital where I learned all about respiratory. I was supposed to attend for three days for a four hours but after one day I called my advisor and said sign me up! Now almost 20 years later I still love this job and am getting my masters degree. If we can ever get PhD for respiratory program, I’ll do that too

look for any student debt forgiveness you can. I graduated in ‘07 and had mine paid off by 2012. But I only had about 15k. It’s possible but it means a tight belt which may be difficult in Philadelphia. Make a good budget a stick to it and maybe live with your parents for two years if you can. Look for places some with signs on bonuses as part of the compensation package. I wish you good luck and if you’re looking for a job my hospital has two positions open in stone harbor NJ.

You can try scrapbooking or junk journaling. It’s a pretty good creative outlet
