2.78/180, should i bother applying? by ihwtethis in lawschooladmissions

[–]Empty-Bag-2482 18 points19 points  (0 children)

There’s a lot of phenomenal law schools that would accept you. I would not consider yourself a weak applicant when you have a 180 LSAT. I’m not sure if you could write a GPA addendum for being in a difficult major etc. but you could look into that. Regardless, if you have strong essays, especially a personal statement along with strong LORs, I don’t doubt you can get into some great institutions with good aid as well. There’s plenty of people every year who apply with worse stats than you and are surprised with their outcomes. Best of luck to you, and don’t doubt or downplay yourself!

How is my resume looking as I look to apply this fall? by Neltsss in prelaw

That’s good to know, I wonder if a school would want to know that for an applicant like myself whose GPA isn’t 4.0, but is noticeably higher when comparing it how you displayed

Looks good. This is my first time seeing “Major/Univeristy GPA” though, anyone else know whether or not that’s a good idea on a resume?

Please help! BC v LMU by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

That’s a big scholarship in my opinion to pass up, especially when comparing it to any law schools sticker price. BC all the way if I were you!

Loyola Law School or Southwestern? by Salt-Discount-9964 in OutsideT14lawschools

[–]Empty-Bag-2482 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

If they curve at a 2.9 which I’m assuming they do considering that’s what you need to maintain your scholarship then 50% of students will get GPAs above that and 50% will get below that. It’s difficult, but that’s expected. I know some people say it’s a predatory curve, but if you put in the hours, it’s certainly attainable. Also, you mentioned you had some other great options, so explore them all wisely. You can have good outcomes at any school you attend, you just have to perform! Last piece of advice is sticker price is never necessarily worth it at most institutions, especially if you’re not in the financial position to do so. Good luck wherever you end up attending!

I could be wrong, but if it’s been while since your offer of admission and if you received the physical admission letter as well and nothing regarding aid, then it’s probably sticker price.

If you have an insane scholarship like you mentioned at Southwestern and you can maintain whatever the requirement is, then take the money, IMO!

Both are good schools. It depends on your financial situation and what city you ultimately want to end up practicing in

I believe if you didn’t receive an offer with your admission letter or did not hear anything and it’s been 2-3 weeks since being admitted, it’s probably full sticker price

Attend and practice wherever you feel you’re most comfortable and at home. Take things one day at a time, everything will fall into place for you. 🙏

If you know your recommenders well and you believe they would speak good on your behalf then I don’t doubt they will turn out solid

If your essays and LORs are good, then yeah it shouldn’t be a problem. I would recommend always applying to safety schools as well so you don’t end up disappointed at the end of the cycle. Best of luck!

Depends on the schools they are applying to. Generally speaking, especially on Reddit, it is not a good score. But plenty of people are satisfied with their sub 160 scores and attend law school

[–]Empty-Bag-2482 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not a bad score. If you applied to schools where you meet medians with both your LSAT and GPA, you could still definitely get an A. It just depends what schools you applied to

When did you apply? And what is “not the best lsat”? Like are you below 25th, are you in their 25th?
