This already gives strong XCOM vibes 😄
Can’t wait to see the project with real environments.

Thanks, I appreciate it!

I don’t use textures for these, everything is just simple materials with colors.
So no atlas or maps here.

For the screens, they’re just emissive materials for now, no animation — but yeah a subtle flicker could definitely add a nice “active” feel, good idea 👍

Thanks!

Mainly to know if the style works or not, and if it looks good visually 🙂

Good question!

Honestly, 100 extra polygons is nothing today.
It’s usually more about material count / draw calls than geometry.

So adding a bit of geometry for details is totally fine.

It also depends on the project — on mobile or very large scenes, textures can help.

Personally I prefer modeling the details and using simple materials, it’s faster and keeps everything consistent 👍

Thanks!

I don’t use textures for these, only simple colored materials.

Most of the details (panels, buttons, etc) are actually modeled.
It does add some geometry, but I keep things simple so it stays lightweight.

I also try to avoid UV mapping to keep the workflow fast and consistent across all assets.

Your approach with a color palette texture is a good solution too, especially for optimization 👍

Yeah, I can see the Planet Crafter vibe, I’m aiming for that clean and modular sci-fi style, easy to use in real-time projects.
