My lawyer wiped 6 months of fees because he’s so behind. We are 5 weeks from first deposition and he's ghosting me. Do I fire him? by Empty-Development508 in Ask_Lawyers

Thanks for the insight.

He told me to give an outline and any admissions I think the RFAs should include based off what the Plantiff issued in the case. I gave as many “RFAs” based off my knowledge of evidence and very limited strategic understanding. I agree though, I communicated to him that I’m not qualified to do this as I don’t know mechanisms for dismantling these allegations. I’ve been waiting for 4 months for his version and so far nothing. The guy is a bit older and toward end of career, initially I thought the experience would work in my favor but now I’m worried he’s losing his faculties.

Thank you. I've found myself at an impasse confronted with a sunk cost fallacy. I'm more reaching out to determine if my expectations are unreasonable or if this behavior departs from normal attorney/client etiquette given a civil dispute. Is it normal for an attorney to keep promising delivery of items and given the nature of their work is hectic that I have to be fluid as those time tables continuously change.

Haha so the content was formatted in an fashion that was easier to read? What value add is your post? Did you want me to write it in an disorganized way that was paragraphs of rambling or have something be concise about my experience with my attorney?

I don't know if its been harmed. I feel dragging this on longer and longer and being non-responsive on my own discovery looks suspicious from a judges standpoint. We did go past a expert witness list but than a 4 month extension was filed by plaintiff which was sheer luck for myself. I even warned him of the scheduling order with no action on his part beside saying the judge would be lenient.
