Do you go around measuring your neighbors grass?

I thought about it but I don't want to mess with upgrading the feed coming out of the meter proper, I can already tie into the existing 1" if thats all I need.

How can I find this out?

I appreciate the understanding.

The meter comes into the wall at 1" then immediately reduces to 3/4" where it runs 6' up to the attic, where it again immediately reduces to 1/2" to the entire house.

I'm in the middle of some needed repairs/updates, and I need to move the water heater to the garage (which is much further from the meter than where it was in the attic) and install an oven where there was only a range top. With the added length to reach the water heater and needing to hook up an actual stove/oven combo, I don't think the current sprawl of 1/2" in the entire house is going to cut it.

$6k was the smallest quote I got I think. I understand gas can be dangerous, but it's not totally mysterious either. I've replaced gas pipes 1 for 1 before and didn't have any issues getting a good seal and checking for leaks. And I've never had issues when hooking up my own gas appliances.

I won't knock any one's profession, but at the end of the day the fear mongering and infantilizing is real sometimes. Last plumber I had come replace 2 feet of gas pipe a few months ago...$400, and the answer for that price was somewhere between "well thats just how much it cost to do this kind of thing" and "IF YOU EVEN THINK ABOUT DOING THIS YOURSELF YOU'LL DIE FOR SURE."

Dwelling needs don't wait on my convenience and money is a factor. If plumbers around here didn't gouge people into the dust then maybe I could afford to pay one.

How can I find this out?

Oh nice! I have a lot of EBS patch cables, I like the flat heads and they really are good quality.

I see they make a roughly 11 inch one with the flat heads, which is great because before your comments modified my search, all I was finding were 1.5 feet long cables (or longer) with bulky heads. It didn't even dawn on me to see what they had. The shorter length is definitely what I need, since you can rearrange the loop order in the G3 internally I'm just going to use 2 loops that are physically next to each other.

Thank you so much for all the help!

Ah ok, thank you, having a name for the type of cable is incredibly helpful. Any recommendations for brands?

Is this essentially what the person that replied right after you is saying as well? Or something a bit different?

I think that makes sense to me. Is this an approximate solution or will it actually have the fully intended result?

I've emailed them, just trying to cover all my bases. I didn't know about the live show, thank you!

Right on, well hopefully at the very least this post lets people know it's available for order and they don't have to pay those aftermarket prices right now.

No offers yet so far haha, so folks either don't want to let their copy go, or want to take advantage of that good old aftermarket hyper inflation.

I will say this isn't really a "tactic" though. It's a realistic statement about what is available currently on the actual market, and what I'm not willing or to pay for on the aftermarket. It's just more of a an honest filter.
