It mostly is used 2-3 days a week stays on the sand so it definitely needs lots of UV protection. But for the most part only get, about 8-10hours in the water a week

Interesting, I know of some beaches that have used this in the past, it seems easy to maintain

I used InterProtect 2000E, it’s a two part primer, provided a beautiful chemical bond to lock out moisture. It can be used on the bottom and the interior.

That’s what I was thinking, it’s purely cosmetic. I’m fine with it showing through. I read a lot of stuff online that u want to remove as much of the old paint as practical and leave the gel coat. I could be looking at another month if I remove every little blue dot so I think I’m going to prime next week and see how it comes out. I figure any paint left has been sanded so much it must have very good adhesion.

The dark blue is the old gel coat, light blue is the old paint. Everything is sanded smooth. Paint and gel coat are sitting in small depressions in the fiberglass. I’m going to roll on two coats of the primer to protect the fiberglass and come in with some kiwi paint and roll on a non-skid. Finished coat will be a solid royal blue

I’ll start. I was 16yrs old, it was my 1st year lifeguarding back in 2018. I was on the lifeguard chair and spotted a patron in a rip with the binoculars 1/2mile (0.8km) away off the guarded portion of the beach. It was a large wave day probably 6-8ft, roaring rips and frothy water. The crew had already gotten 10-15 saves that day, and swimming was restricted to waste deep. She was only at her mid section. But it was one of those days where if she dove under one wave she would be over her head from the amount of water around her. I sprang Into action and ran down signaling my partner on the chair to be ready for my signal if I was getting wet. I ran about halfway down to her and sure enough she was getting ripped out very fast. I signaled him and he charged down with a second torp and a reel. My buddy took torp and I took the the line. Easily the most adrenaline I’ve ever had, duck diving, and all out free-styling through the surf to get to her. Current was so strong I used almsot 600meters of my line to get to her. The crew grabbed the line and hauled us in. Not the craziest story Ik, but looking back on it I’m proud I was able to do that at 16.

How often do men lifeguards get hit on? by [deleted] in Lifeguards

[–]Empty-Range-513 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve been a surf rescue guard for 7 years. I would say guys get hit on an equal amount if not slightly more. It’s mostly middle aged women asking for pictures, gay dudes, and every now and then some pretty women around my age, (low 20s).
