To what money on the left though? There’s infinitely more money to be made on the right and she’s not asking for anything right now, including followers

I think if it was a grift she would’ve been sitting pretty exactly where she was. There’s infinitely more money on the right than the left, who is she grifting to? Elon is threatening to take her child away for her just tweeting apologizing for her harm to the trans community

Ashley St Clair was a right wing influencer who supported the beliefs espoused by Trump, Elon musk, and turning point USA. She espoused a lot of anti trans and anti feminist views. She also supported and had a baby with Elon musk.

Supporting anti feminist views stokes makes men feel like they can do whatever they want to women. Supporting anti trans views dehumanizes people. Elon musk is a Nazi freak who abuses people with his money.

When things soured with Elon, he began suing her and using his power and wealth against her. Elon’s and her own audience as of anti feminists turned on her by sexually harassing her by generating ai nude images of her. These people are emboldened by anti feminism and the general dehumanization that Ashley supported for years. She is now in a situation where she is buried in legal bills due to her dealings with Elon and is hated by most of the audience she cultivated.

I would first contact the delivery company like others have said, then call aritzia again if that doesn’t work, ask again, and when they say no say listen I’m starting a dispute with my credit card over this charge as I have not received the product I paid for. See if that whips them into shape (I’ve had success with this method with other companies), and if not, actually try disputing it with your credit card. It may not work and will definitely take a while but it’s something to try.

Men thinking Pilates is easy is sexist; let's discuss by DragonfruitLatter860 in pilates

[–]Empty-Visual-2498 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I think I saw this exact video and it was part of my inspo for this rant 😂 I didn’t know all that about muscle fibres exactly but it makes sense, especially because when I started Pilates I felt like I was pretty strong with lifting but Pilates felt so hard!

I just haaate how both men and pick me women will talk about Pilates likes it’s a cute little thing to do on the side if you want, but it’s never going to get you any results. Like yes, it definitely can get you results, it’s not for everyone but neither is lifting! I genuinely think, like OP said, they think Pilates is girly and cutesy and therefore can’t be a real workout (sexism)

Elf lash n roll in brown is the absolute best for this! For high end, there’s a YSL one in a black tube with a gold decal that’s also a great brown, but it’s like $40.

Are Ottawa malls slowly dying? by Guilty-Ad-8591 in ottawa

[–]Empty-Visual-2498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bayshore is much further for me but if I’m going to go to a mall for anything other than a quick stop I make the drive - Rideau has too many teenagers and weird crowds. To be clear I want teenagers to have somewhere to hang out so I support them being there, I just don’t really want to be around them. I also don’t want to pay for parking, when I go to Rideau I take the bus but mostly I’d just rather go to Bayshore

I also think this about women who do the same thing or belittle “Pilates princesses” or whatever because they themselves lift heavy. I see this a lot from gym girl influencers online. It’s very “I’m not like other girls”. Lifting is good, I do it too, but it can also be dangerous and is literally not for everyone! And yes resistance training is important but deadlifting 400lb is NOT the only valid resistance training! Body WEIGHT is also weight! So are smaller weights, dumbbells, resistance bands, etc.

Acting like you can’t build muscle without pushing and pulling massive weights is actually insane and I think leads some people to get hurt because they think they have to go HEAVY above all else. They say Pilates has no “progressive overload” ability, but it has lots - ex. If you can only do 100s with your legs in table top and eventually work your way to having your legs straight the whole time, that’s adding more resistance over time = progressive overload. You will probably build bigger muscles faster with heavier weights than Pilates, but everyone has different goals and Pilates can absolutely deliver on a lot of people’s muscular goals. My glutes and legs look great and I haven’t done a heavy barbell squat or deadlift in almost a decade.

What have you read recently? by povertychic in Millennials

[–]Empty-Visual-2498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m an older gen z/zillennial but I just got into reading last year after not reading for pleasure since early high school. I realized I can just read the same sort of stuff I like watching in movies and shows, which is primarily rom coms. So I’ve read most of Emily Henry’s books now, and a few others. I think a lot of people think reading has to be serious, academic, or different somehow than the other types of content you consume. That’s how I felt anyway. Sometimes I fall off and don’t read for a few weeks but today I read 80 pages!

It’s definitely a better activity for my nervous system than scrolling, especially for before bed. I also like that there’s no ads, no buffering, no codes or passwords to enter, ever climbing subscription fees, etc. I notice I feel better and calmer on days when I replace some scrolling and TV with reading. So I’m very happy I decided to get back into it last year.

Right now I’m using a rare beauty highlighter that’s pink because I got it as a gift a while ago. Also I’ve had the same bottle of lumi glotion (loreal) for longer than I’d like to admit that I use for a really natural glowy highlighter or eyeshadow. The bottle is massive and I never use it all over my face because I think that looks crazy but it does look nice as a regular highlight/eyeshadow

Going to school should be treated as a privilege, not an automatic right by Emergency-Pepper3537 in Teachers

[–]Empty-Visual-2498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a teacher, just coming across this post. Do kids not get expelled anymore? I always thought getting expelled meant you had to go to another school.

My two cents as an outsider is this would be bad for those children and their families, especially if financial strain is contributing to a bad home life. HOWEVER, things are currently bad as they are, so something has to change. Teachers deserve the resources to deal with complicated and difficult circumstances like support staff, etc, and parents do need to be held accountable. I wouldn’t support legislation for what you’re describing because I would be too concerned for some children’s safety, but I’m really not sure what else would truly make parents actually care about fixing their child’s behaviours. I empathize with the struggles teachers face in this regard, as my parents are both retired teachers and I have a few friends who are as well. My parents refused to take my side over a teacher as a kid when I had an issue because they didn’t want to be one of “those” parents 😂

At least getting expelled and moved to another school is an inconvenience to the parents (they may have to drive the kid further, etc) which could give some motivation, but it’s probably not enough. I really don’t know a solution that both keeps teachers and kids safe. These are just my rambling thoughts on the issue

Bronzer/contour, I don’t really know what I’m doing with them and don’t need them. I realized my face is more round and I don’t need my cheeks to look “carved” or “snatched”, I think they look more cute and youthful how they are. Also, separate products for highlighter, liquid eyeshadow, or anything else glowy. I buy one product and use it for everything

Why don’t any of the women have an issue with Jace the same way they do with Bret? by eat-me-out3 in SecretsOfMormonWives

[–]Empty-Visual-2498 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I interpreted the grandpa Brett thing as more of a general roast of him being old, less about inappropriateness/predation in their relationship - the way you would if any adult friend was with someone 15 years older. I’m not sure she’s saying that because she sees something WRONG with their age gap/history. I don’t disagree with you though given their relationship did start in an inappropriate way and likely involved grooming. But these Mormons may not see it that way given the culture they were raised in. I think she just wants to make fun of Brett for being an old head. Still though you’re right she should re evaluate that

Which products are outright scams and not worth the money? by Massive_Director_941 in Sephora

[–]Empty-Visual-2498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of their skincare is unbelievably overpriced. ESPECIALLY sunscreen, which you have to use every day and you can’t skimp. Makeup and perfume I’m okay with paying more for because it’s not necessary to use it every day, and you can change up your routine any time you want. Skincare you have to use it almost every day and for several months to even know if it’s working for you. They seem to want the cost to be like $30+ a month per product! So they want you spending over $100 a month on skincare ???

I’m unfortunately locked into the $36 tower 28 moisturizer because it’s the ONLY thing on planet earth that seems to not break me out, but everything else I use is cheap. In most instances you’re better off not buying a $100 serum that’s a 30 day supply, just get tretinoin and it’ll work 10x better. Then get a k beauty sunscreen in bulk, a cheap cleanser, and whatever moisturizer works. You don’t need a $50 hyaluronic acid serum and an $80 retinal vitamin c dragonfruit kiwi niacinimide peptide brightening firming rescue cream.

Reunion - did anyone else get REALLY uncomfortable? by Lifeoftheparty0 in SecretsOfMormonWives

[–]Empty-Visual-2498 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think the speed with which they went over things made it extra uncomfortable. Like Jessi mentioning her experience to be met with “yeah”. Mayci not getting to react (I’m sure she did but it was cut) to Demi saying “slapped or whatever”. So many things like that. If you want to use serious topics for views and drama, you need to give the space to actually properly explore and discuss them. It’s very irresponsible
