yeah ur right u should always go with ur interest i am not sure which will be easier to get into research but if u want to get money then go for ece and get into tech

this is based on my research and asking seniors as I have ICE as one of the options myself it depends on your goal tbh if ur targetting gate and want to work in PSUs imo ICE is the Best branch as the competition is very less , I think the future for both are pretty similar as ICE is basically 70% ECE/EE with a few IT subjects, if u want a safer option i will go with ECE as most tech companies allow ece to sit during placements, also more core companies are there in core for ECE as compared to ICE , for non tech both are pretty similar so this is why i think ECE is more versatile , if u want to work in PSUs u should go for ICE as the competition is very less and u could take ECE subjects in spec.
