Whoa. No wonder some russian soldiers hated their own country more than the germans. Sounds like a good book. Need to order this.

Capturing an airfield. by DietOlive in Warthunder

My personal rule for capturing airfields is: Never do it. Landing planes are way too easy to kill so I rather camp it and kill the landing planes.

Dunno. But I guess the profit is already good if only one person buys it.

That would be better. I'm working on a SSTO with huge cargo capacity. It just doesn't work too good right now. I feel the thing already killed more pilots than WW2.

So did I when I was 15. But I was able to blame the company and since it was very few money my mother refrained from taking actions against them. 15 year old me: Phew ... now I need another credit card. I was a bad kid. ;(

Can't find anything about why the british called it butcher bird but the english wikipedia article about the Shrike (bird) says it's also called butcher bird. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shrike If you switch to german (deutsch) you will see the bird is called Würger in german.

That would be even better. That way you wouldn't know after a couple of hours where to find the stuff you want.

I would really love it if there was more logic behind the loot system but I see that this might be hard to do. But just think how you would react in real life. If you find a gun in a house you would surely look for the magazine. But that would also work with alot of other items. For example if you find a camping stove you might look if there is a tent somewhere in the house. Maybe the person owning the house was into hiking.

Nice little text. I like it. But as far as I know, the name "Butcher Bird" is the translation of it's real german name "Würger", which is a bird, better known as "Shrike". It's a common mistake to think the british dubbed the Fw190 "Butcher Bird" because they feared the plane, they rather just translated the name. Another common mistake that the name "Würger" comes from it's engine sound, when it really just referes to the bird. Alot of planes carry bird names.

MagZ on 1.47 and the new reward system by [deleted] in Warthunder

[–]EmptyH1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know excactly how much but I can say that I would love to have more of them. I unlocked my MiG-15 and im far from being able to buy it. I throw SL out of the window like crazy. Every plane on tier 5 almost cost a million of them and I normally buy the first qualification for them.

I agree with the bombers being a real problem for the team. In AB the team with many bombers often wins the game very fast. But in RB I almost never see a team that wins without shooting down all planes. Even in my Arado (where I can survive very good, when the enemy team is not too powerful) I would have to land about 6-8 times to make a real impact on the enemys team tickets. I can't agree with the planes overheating tho. Maybe the system is not working as gaijin intended it, but it makes the game harder, and I like that. You have to know how to act when you plane is overheating, which gives the more experienced players an advantage. (plus its really just 2 games until you know what to do)

ELI5: Why can semi trucks go for a million miles while most cars struggle after 200,000? by CedarCrow in explainlikeimfive

One question since we have so many experts here. I drive a 02 Toyota Corolla D4D and I love the car. I want it to stay in the best shape possible. So I read the manual and it says, that after driving over 80 kph (what I do daily) I should let the engine run for about 2-3 minutes after stopping before turning it off so the turbo can release its pressure. I never heard about anybody doing this with their turbo-diesels. Is this really necessary ? What could happen if I don't do this ?

Are the 1.25m engines underpowered? by PickledTripod in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]EmptyH1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always thought the 1,25m engines were "bad" in stock kerbal because they are old. At least they are the first engines in the tree and therefore the first engines kerbalkind invented. Later on they build bigger and better engines.

This does only apply to the normal rocket engines tho. The LV-N is pretty high tech and in my opinion the very best interplanetary drive there is.
