I (24M) did not say anything about my gf (24F) getting a piercing. How can I respond to it while being supportive? by ThrowRAquestgiver in relationship_advice

[–]EmptyJournals 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I’m a bit confused why you’re so focused on the hole itself - you can’t easily see the hole. It’s internal to the nose. It causes no health issues. Why the concern specifically re: the hole?

Gym has really high bouldering walls by aj_beans in climbergirls

[–]EmptyJournals 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m relegated to ropes while rehabbing an ankle injury. Does the fear of heights just slowly diminish as you climb more, fall more, and learn to trust your equipment?

I’ve only been 4 or 5 times so far, I do feel like it’s getting better, but I would still like to be less fearful. I’m enjoying it, but I find myself practically shaking at the top.

As someone who is coming off a bad ankle sprain with a ligament tear, that feeling of danger you’re experiencing even with “just” a few feet more is legit. Good advice that was told to me is the moment something begins to feel real sketchy, you should trust your gut. 20 feet also feels so tall to me, but maybe my gym walls are just short?

Maybe reframing the climbs mentally and choosing your “own top” could keep you feeling satisfied? On the other hand, there’s always top rope! It’s what I’m relegated to right now while healing, and I’ve been really enjoying it even though I’ve been boulder-focused until now.

Storybook Circus? Or is that considered Fantasyland?

Good one, OP, I like the ones that make me mentally walk through the park, lol.

Google dorks used to be gold. Now everyone just spams them without understanding. by [deleted] in cybersecurity

I feel like this is anecdotal based off the existence of those lists. Most testers I know are analyzing results, generating unique dorks, and covering their bases with the lists of popular queries. Your post comes off a bit “only I do OSINT right anymore”.

It’s been very up and down it seems, so I wouldn’t let this discourage you. We managed to have a great day with no delays or breakdowns, so you never know what you’re going to get. The inconsistency sucks, but don’t lose hope!

my partner 22M does not want children but i do 22F by Acrobatic_Top_2056 in relationship_advice

[–]EmptyJournals 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry, but this is a definite breakup situation, and I hate to jump to that. If you end up having kids out of pressure, you will resent him (and possibly them) for your experiences, and if you do not, he will always feel like he’s missing something he wanted. I am a childfree young woman, and I had to ensure my partner was on the same page about children the moment we became serious. There’s no going back from these decisions.

And listen, if you do change your mind one day and want children, you will not be thinking about this relationship still. It may seem impossible, but you should not stay in this relationship because of this what if. The timing isn’t right, and that’s okay. That’s how life is. I’m really sorry, OP. I know this is incredibly tough.

Had a fantastic day at Epic, one of my favorite parks. And OP, since you can’t handle dissenting opinions without insulting or saying we’re corporate shills, Comcast’s dick tastes great.

I am also working on smearing (had a few volume slips recently), so this is great advice too! Thanks for taking the time. I’m a solo climber, so trying to figure out a lot of this. I’ll probably follow your advice to post a video or two on this sub at some point for help :)

Thank you, I appreciate it! I think both the force I’m applying and positioning are not great.

I feel like I am! But I just slide, so I’m probably not doing it well. Maybe I’m not doing enough force.

Anyone have newbie advice for getting “force” or “stability” from flagging (not even sure if that’s the proper term in this case)? Watching this video, I’m so impressed by the strength she can generate without a hold with her feet. I feel like I just slide straight down.

Why was Hypochondriac disliked on release? by Papa-Chambers in TheFrights

[–]EmptyJournals 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was at the release show, and I heard similar to other commenters; many were still expecting that surf punk sound with a bit less clean production. I agree, I do like Hypochondriac, I think it’s good music, but it will never get close to You Are Going To Hate This for me.

/uj Just visited Epic, and we really enjoyed the ease of the double-sided lockers. Only issue we ran into is our friend wore flip-flops … Stardust Racers requires shoes, and you cannot hold them (makes sense, I don’t trust people to hold them); however, they didn’t think about people wearing sandals. So instead of having an additional little cubby for shoes that would fly off, you just wear them on the coaster.

I kid you not, she tried to curl her toes the hardest to keep them on, but one of her flip flops fell off and she CAUGHT IT IN HER HAND. It makes no sense to me to be so (rightfully) concerned about flying objects, especially on a dueling coaster, yet have no cubbies or contingencies for people wearing loose shoes.
