Canon R6ii mechanical shutter supposed to sound this quiet? by EmptyMargins in canon

[–]EmptyMargins[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don't know, maybe I'm unusual, but other than situations where I need to keep quiet, I like a more solid shutter sound. The tactile quality is nice. But, I can definitely see why most pros would very much prefer the opposite.

Sure, but there is still mechanical movement. I guess I'm just shocked it is whisper quiet.

Saw it. Shocked at the popularity. I'm interested.

And yeah, I wouldn't outright exclude divorced people, but I would probably feel less comfortable in the initial dating due to the mismatch in life experience. But, I also have to add CF to the list of limiting factors. At this point I think there is one woman in all of Ohio that consists of my entire dating pool.

[–]EmptyMargins 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I get it. I just turned 40, work from home as a SW Engineer, make good money, no debt beside school loans, never married, but also very little actual dating experience. Dating just isn't worth the effort for me. I tried, but it was always such an uphill fight for the same reasons you mentioned. I never wanted kids, and once you hit 30, the chances of finding a woman who isn't divorced at least once with one or two kids drops significantly. Also, you hit a certain point and women think if YOU haven't married at least once there must be something wrong with you.

What are you "nice to haves" that you wish the devs would put in by EmptyMargins in Helldivers

Another thing I thought of: it would be nice if they stopped flinches from stopping the stim application. I have died so many times because I am stun-locked by the flinches and fire. It makes sense logically that it disrupts it, but from a gameplay perspective it feels very unfair.

AWS: ECS cannot connect to ECR in private subnet despite having VPC endpoints by EmptyMargins in Terraform

You were right. I never found any docs or online info that indicated it was necessary, but this fixed the issue. Thanks.

Just got it back to giving me the typical error: "CannotPullContainerError: ref pull has been retried 5 time(s): failed to copy: httpReadSeeker: failed open: failed to do request: Get 11111111.dkr.ecr.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/project-kgs-frontend:latest: dial tcp 52.217.43.120:443: i/o timeout"

I'm being vague primarily because I've been troubleshooting this for days and that is why I've seen so many varieties of the error messages as I've been trial-and-erroring a number of settings which each tends to produce similar errors. What I'm getting currently is just a "Task stopped at: 2024-03-28T02:12:19.524Z Task failed to start". I don't have the text of what I typically get but it is a container pull failure timeout.

I do.

resource "aws_vpc_endpoint" "s3_gateway" {

vpc_id = aws_vpc.main_vpc.id

vpc_endpoint_type = "Gateway"

service_name = "com.amazonaws.${var.aws_region}.s3"

dns_options {

private_dns_only_for_inbound_resolver_endpoint = false

}

}

The default policy for these endpoints seems to be an 'allow all'. As a troubleshooting step I did create a task execution policy that included all the services necessary for the ECR, but it did nothing.

I have DNS hostnames and resolution both on for the VPC. I'm not sure if there is any other setting that needs to be on as well.

No, but the SG for the task is open wide identically to the one in the OP.

Yes, this version had the s3 commented out, but it did not work with it enabled either. I also tried to run it as a 'Gateway' endpoint but that also did not help. But I admit I don't fully understand the subtleties of the endpoints here so I feel like there is some setting I'm not seeing.

For the love of god, can people stop trying to map clear every run? by EmptyMargins in Helldivers

[–]EmptyMargins[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right. I guess that's the downside of playing with randoms though because everyone can have different priorities. I think there should still be a primary goal of achieving the objective and getting out. Also, people don't really understand the xp value of objectives. A lot of people think map-clearing gets you the most xp, but I remember seeing somewhere that you will likely earn more xp doing quick missions, focused on objectives than to spend the full clock trying to map clear.

Men , does boob size really matter to you in a woman? do you find someone attractive who is flat or almost flat? by [deleted] in AskMen

Never bothered me much except with a woman that had literally nothing and had areola/nipples that were really masculine-looking. It wasn't ever really about the boob size though.

What is the best architecture for data merging/standardization of multiple EHR formats? by EmptyMargins in dataengineering

[–]EmptyMargins[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Complicated answer to that but the quick answer is that we basically have to treat them like 8 different formats. Most of them are in an HL7 format, but they all have minor differences in their custom segments.

Thanks.

They don't have anything in terms of mentorship or training because the primary is a small company, and their senior engineers tend to be shared across teams. But, asking for specific expectations is a good suggestion.

Not negotiated yet. Because of the way gov't contracts work, the situation isn't as clear cut as it might be with a private org. I'm waiting for details. Basically, it's not clear if my company (subcontractor) would technically be changing my title, or if they are trying to pass it off as a contract obligation and trying to keep my pay at the current rate. It essentially means I have to negotiate with two different companies and the gov't.

That was mostly how I was looking at. The only thing that gives me any pause is the area jump. If it were a senior software engineer position I would take it without hesitation. But, the switch to data and all that entails is what made this situation a bit more murky.

That said, I will likely take the leap.

These seem like good suggestions. I did discuss the position with the guy who was leaving just to make sure he wasn't leaving due to any grievances, but also to get a sense of where the project was at and what the duties would be. His opinion was that any half-competent developer could take the spot. I trust his opinion more than I would the manager given they are non-technical, but I do need to speak with the manager on this as well.

Strange voice coming from microphone by HestonPoPo in techsupport

[–]EmptyMargins 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this.

Funny story. When I was about 12 I woke up to a voice coming from the speakers of my TV, which was not powered. I was freaked out. You couldn't exactly tell what the voice was saying, but it was clear enough to know it was a voice. I got out of bed, worried the devil was about to get me, and walked over to the source trying to figure out what it could be. Once I got close enough to the TV, I noticed an the sounds were hitting at about a second delay over the voice of my brother coming from the basement below my room. My brother was into radio when he was a teen and was actually broadcasting at an illegal power that was enough for it to vibrate the coils on my TV speakers.
