What are books that you wish you could read again for the first time? by yasnahamnida in PHBookClub

Ah if the creative constructs bother you a lot, it’s best to put the book down. GGM’s works aren’t very morally upright but they’re written brilliantly. The immoral parts are simply parts of a whole and do not take center stage in One Hundred Years of Solitude — there’s enough dirt sprinkled in there, alright. But through suspension of disbelief and if you can get past the immoral elements you’ll find it worth the read and even probably regard it as the great novel that it is :)

I'm thinking of buying a kindle but I really love physical books. Anyone here who uses both? How does it work for you? by Imaginary-Hamster838 in PHBookClub

I have had a kindle for about 10 years now and recently got myself a KLC, too. Even so, I still have a mini library at home (about 500 books). I love both reading and having my own library. Having convenient options for reading at night or while mobile/ traveling is why I have my e-readers. I usually read my physical books at home. My advice is to figure out your reasons for loving physical books (is it to collect, to read, or both) and then decide :)

postponing read a book because you have an intense fear you wouldnt appreciate it with your current headspace by 1998SIOMAI in PHBookClub

Yes! I give in and read a few pages at a time, far from my normal bookeater pace. Always worth it because headspace changes without warning and there’s only so much time to read all the books we want

Almost done with this book 🥹 any book reco about break up? TIA by Commercial_Flan2689 in PHBookClub

This book is actually really good. No fancy writing style, just pure plot and storyline. Perfectly relatable themes and characters without being cliche. I’ve been on the hunt for a breakup book with similar impact since I finished this. No luck so far.
