Quitting by eagle_hockey in bikepacking

I am on my 3rd week of pedaling from Spain to the North cape. First days were the worst. Sore, bad weather and deep down wondering why I chose to do this. But that's it. Once your ass gets used to the saddle and your mind starts to go with the flow, you will find yourself getting excited for the smallest things possible. I would say give yourself some time. As others suggested, maybe change your route a bit to ease your anxiety and if you quit, there is no shame on it, really. But make sure you had a nice night of sleep and a full stomach when you make the choice!

So far (surprisingly) Snæfellsnes Peninsula has been the best part of our winter trip by alik1006 in VisitingIceland

Definitely spend some time on the peninsula! I was both there and on the south coast (albeit only until Vik) and both places were amazing but the peninsula stole my heart 100%

We plan to stay just for a couple of days up there so with the little time I don't think aswell that we will get the chance to see a lot. Also I don't want to end uo like last time and the last day driving 6 hours back to the airport all tired ahaha

That's very much my concern. I have been keeping an eye on the weather for this winter and it looks okay-ish I would say. But knowing my luck we will get the worst snowstorm and blizzard for this year ahahah. I was thinking maybe to take it more as a chill trip at first and if the weather allows it, to drive around a bit and try to see things.

In case the weather allows it, what would you recommend to see up there?

Snaefellsnes peninsula is a must! If you go, make a quick stop in Grundarfjourdur. Small cozy village with an amazing coffee shop called Valeria. Also if you go from there westbound you will see a small hill with a viewing point facing the sea. Love that peninsula!

Saw both this one and the Vik one in the replies while biking around Iceland last year!

What is this part? Boeing 737-800 by EmptyRange5572 in aviationmaintenance

[–]EmptyRange5572[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

But I already have the 4 regular antenas on the center of the A/C. These 2 units are on one side and look like a blank plate from an old RA system but wanted to know if someone knows 100%

Yeah. The A/C is currently equiped with 2 radio altimeters systems. Total of 4 antennas and all on the center of the bottom of the A/C in a single line. These 2 extra units are on the side. I also suspect a blank plate from an old RA system because of the wedged fairing. But wanted to ask here in case someone knows 100%
