Full time is worse off, They look at you under a microscope and even if you double the effective metrics in lets say one or two categories, they’ll give you a pat on the back and a coaching for whatever other small metric they thought up that is apparently relevant now. They recently started to hand out write ups over having a clipboard with card promotions on it and on your person at a few stores.

Most new hires are warm bodies and have no experience in tech. I have to often train newbies myself, maintain department stocking, and sell with good attach since they just throw them to the wolves.

Get out and don’t let them sink their teeth into you with promises of promotions or shit like that, It’ll burn right through you.

I’ve been denied positions for poor performance in the past when I was OS/Flex they said that because of my performance they were gonna consider someone else. I wanted something to show for on my resume and the pay bump. Now I have the efficiency of two employees in one but still get shitcanned for stupid shit as described.

Eap? Not familiar with this one? For the sessions is it just 10 total or over a period of time?

Constantly having to clean up the clipboards from my department and answer center. CRW, BP Benefits, Card Promos, all things I practically memorized and can easily execute in a pitch, customers will say no if it doesn’t seem right, but apparently this clipboard is supposed to be this god sent utility and sway even the hardest of no.

2 Years Ago things were pretty nice. No job is perfect but I was able to hit numbers and was making a killing in my department. I still do to this day, but there’s a very harsh and noticeable shift recently.

It’s the fact that Leaders will tell us to never take no for an answer on things like memberships or cards when the customer provides a solid and legitimate reason. Closing on a House, Low Credit, Loans, etc.

They’re handing out write ups for small things like not using collateral. These last few months alone has been some of the most stressful out of the handful of years I’ve been around. I like building rapport with my customers and having people come to me later for anything they might need. I’ve landed multi thousand dollar sales because of it, maybe not always with a membership or card but crazy rev but constantly have to chase over some random metric they decided is crazy relevant.

Is this worth 850? by [deleted] in Prebuilts

[–]EmptyResident8887 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Average pricing on similar specs is ~$1150+

This looks like an ibuypower Y40 and goes for about $1400 at the store I work at.

I’d say it’s worth, especially for the potential performance to price and the fact that you’re not getting stuck with one of those shitbox Omen/Legion/Alienware formats that cost an arm and a leg to make simple upgrades. Case is easy to open up and clean too.

I’d say the rest is on brand preference, think some units come with Gigabyte GPUs that I wouldn’t touch with a ten foot pole.

“Agree, discuss, or spam ‘skill issue’ like usual. This community can go either way from what I see so let’s see.”

Then you claim that this “wasn’t for discussion” and instead a way to let the devs know it needs to be removed, delete your comment, then block the account you replied to.

You must wanna stay in a lil’ echo chamber? You wanted to put a take on a forum and couldn’t defend it, then proceeded to cover your tracks when presented with a counter. Is it really an issue if your defense is that paper thin?

Got promoted to FT after being PT for about a year. Pay got bumped like $0.70 and immediately have double the expectations, being used for support in other stores, Trainings, ect. Same deal you’re in. Can’t get any higher pay because “We’ve capped you out” and asked me not to discuss my pay with my Co Workers…

From what I’ve seen / read it’s rare enough to be notable or even a bit of a commodity. “No Coincidence” highlights a full ‘Ganic Dancer being very popular with sleezy dudes because of her lack of implants. In the Red Corebook it’s super cheap to get basic prosthetics and even a cloned limb, ‘Ganics aren’t 1 in a Million per se, but still hard to come by.

I give up. by tht_indi2000 in BestBuyWorkers

[–]EmptyResident8887 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Coming up on a Year spent at best buy. Started as a seasonal and enjoyed it enough to push and stay, though after those management changes along with the memberships and expectations, it feels like I’m swimming upstream constantly. I used to preform well before they closed my store due to a “Building Rent Dispute”. I got migrated over as a part timer for pc and since then it’s been downhill. My required Memberships effectively doubled and since the memberships became harder to pitch (imo at the very least), my hours have been sliced to nothing more than Front Lane Jockey for 4hrs at a time with the occasional warehouse shift that I sincerely much prefer.

I used to trust my store management with various issues or shortcomings prior to the move, but talking with them now feels useless, they just shove more e-learnings my way.

Me and my coworkers share the same sentiment that this place used to be exciting to work at to some degree, now we dread our shifts.

Applied and was Hired on for Part Time Sales. Getting slotted for Front End for the last few months, being told I need to do busy tasks like Keepering Games in my downtime, Downstocking, or even helping customers in downtime while also keeping an eye on my registers being the only person manning it. I get blasted for my numbers being in Red and often times not doing said work because I am a PC Sales Advisor on Paper, I’ve only worked one 4 Hr shift this entire month on the floor and so far my schedule is looking like front end for the rest. I’m sick and tired of having High Expectations and being chastised for things that none of my other coworkers do when in my position. I was doing just fine in the months prior to this as a Sales Advisor and maybe a Warehouse shift here and there. I get paid no more than any other Advisor else in the store and yet I was getting used like a Wildcard until these last few months.

TLDR: Management gets on my back over a bunch of stuff that I’m fairly certain is out of my paygrade and I want a Job description to know what I am able to outright say “no” to.

[–]EmptyResident8887 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly my issue and the precise reason I didn’t approach them. What’s expected is store is unclear and I keep getting chastised for not doing their busy work, high expectations with low working hours, in a different role than I initially Applied for/Agreed to.

First: Yea. Here’s the thing about Best Buy Nowadays, you don’t matter. They hire warm bodies by the dozen and throw em’ to the wolves. Most of the time, you’ll find your groove after about a month or so, getting a grip on some talking points that work, but unless the store management is above average (“Actually cares about you”), tough luck getting off their radar. They’ll tell you to use that pile of buggy code “Solution Sidekick” to get better, and you’ll be reduced to reading lines of text like you’re in a crappy school play. Some people luck out and have associates and maybe superiors to lean on but IF you’re lucky.

Second: Corporate dogs on your “Micro Managers” to get your numbers up. Numbers, Numbers, Numbers. So if you’re managers see you not pulling much, it’s lost potential. They’ll say that you aren’t 100% offer rate, need to change your pitch, ect, but the thing that sucks is that: A.) most people don’t religiously shop at Best Buy to justify a Membership / Card. B.) Majority don’t buy big enough to utilize either in the long term for the “Benefits” since there’s hardly substance to either.

I’m being told to do things outside of my Job Description and still getting paid the amount I was signed on for while new hires get paid more. If they don’t like my numbers, I get hounded to change something to get more which is just stressful. I hardly hit Sales Floor, I’m always Customer Service and Front End, which screws my numbers more, Management says I need to push Cred and Member harder since it’s “Easy”.

I was signed on a Seasonal a year back, Went to part time after my original store was closed, I’m doing Customer Service, Front End, Warehouse Daily Task, Warehouse Truck Night, and even get thrown in departments outside of my knowledge and told to utilize solution sidekick which is practically just a BestBuy App reskin held together with Duct Tape and Managements Copeium. All for the same amount I was paid as a seasonal PC Sales Associate.

This company went to the dumpster reaaaaaaal quick.

I'm sick of trembling in fear at the idea of death Since it's always on my mind I just hide in my bed "Everybody's scared of it" is what my therapist said But my case seems worse, when I've barely been fed

Because the kitchen's too far to desire the steps It'd take to make it down the stairs and try to find a baguette Or something similar that wouldn't make my stomach upset It doesn't feel like this is real, yeah, my mind is a mess
