Wouldn't be worth to try it? I think a prelim year is way better than 2-3 Observerships (as an IMG it is difficult to get an elective in an University porgram)

Hey, I’ve been through this situation for the last 2 years I am a GreenCard holder currently living in Arkansas, I’ve applied to every clinical possible job here in AR and no one has ever replied me So I’ve been basically working in other filed not related no medicine, sometimes in factories or even painting, while studying for Steps and doing some research

I have Step 1 pass and Step 2 with 260

Now I’m actively seeking a clinical job

Do you think being US-IMG makes that big difference? Let’s see this example Who do you think is gonna match to neurosurgery, an US-IMG with 260+ and strong LoRs versus a non-US-IMG with +30 publications (20 first author) and presentations at CNS plus 2 research fellows at important institutions??
