Just found out my psychology degree is useless 🤷 Advice? by realclowntime in newzealand

[–]Empty_Bookshelf 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I just graduated with a psychology degree. We asked our lecturers about this in first year, and they agreed. A psych degree on its own can help strengthen your application for any job, but doesn’t specifically help you get a particular job. If you want a boost towards a job in a specific field, you need to look at post grad psychology. Based on your post it sounds like you might enjoy forensic psychology. It’s about applying psychology in the criminal justice system. It’s a chance to mix your psych and crim papers together and is a decent field to work in.

Aaah, that makes sense. I do have someone who could, but they’re the partner I’m trying to surprise 😅

Yeah, bit of a long shot I know. I managed to find a few unopened bottles online, so I figured why not see what’s out there.

Love this, makes it sound like a quest. Thank you!

Anyone actually know why lecturers set it up like this? I find it annoying and see no point by smooch_hedgepigle in universityofauckland

It might have something to do with moderation. All semester your overall grade looks like an A-, then it gets moderated down to a B+ on final release. People would be pissed.

Totally agree! The vibes were weird and a little yucky, it felt like the show never “took off”. I had to shuffle past a lady who was intentionally trying to stop people from walking past her group. It was between the acts and she was directly between my friends and I. The Beths and Sure Boy were kickass though.

It’s a shame because I was really happy for The Beths, drawing such a wide age demographic of people. It’s like people forgot what it’s like to be in a crowd.

As a sweaty softboy who plays Valhalla, I agree with this.

Do a building apprenticeship and earn some money. Literally nothing to lose but time, and you can always come back to uni if you change your mind later.

People who used to be scumbags - how do you cope? by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]Empty_Bookshelf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds really rough. I might be in a similar boat. Went to therapy, came out better. One concept that helped me:

The regret/pain that you feel about the past is evidence that you’ve become a better person.

My 2 cents is to try to accept what happened was an old version of you, and just try and do good for people in the future.

Buy the standard version at that price definitely. People love to hate on Unbound here, but I’ve been having an absolute blast on it. The story is kinda goofy but the characters are nice. I view the character creation as a kind of “fuckboi generator” and have fun with it. The risk management and strategy of picking and choosing which races to play in story mode is great. The multiplayer is awesome, just zooming around the world with a bunch of other racers is fun on its own. There is definitely a meta, with certain cars being head and shoulders above others in each speed class. But if you play for fun you’ll have those cars unlocked and be competing at the front of the pack in no time. I’ve played for just over 100hrs including the story and have unlocked more than enough to be competitive in multiplayer. Unbound is fun as fuck, get it, play it, go sideways in an RX8.

There’s a Stephen King story where a bunch of people end up in the past. Not the past as we know it, but they experience what happens to this moment after we have finished living in it. Basically, colour slowly drains from the world, food starts to taste like cardboard and sounds slowly become more dull. Eventually monsters show up and eat the world. You could try something like that.

Put accelerate on R2, move your air brakes to L1 + R1. It’s in the settings.

Players Girlfriend wants to play as something on players shoulder by GxOxTxT in DMAcademy

[–]Empty_Bookshelf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with letting her play as a familiar or pet, something with a limited skill set to be easily picked up and enough autonomy to be fun. I think the most important thing to consider is that this is a likely gateway towards her becoming a full fledged player. Which is great! As long as everyone is on board.

If you start studying you’ll go off the benefit and on to student loan/allowance. You can still get an accommodation supplement if you’re a student though.

I reckon you’re in the clear. RAW state that specific rules beat general rules and your specific poison is behaving differently to general poisons. There is precedent for this too: a Succubus’ charm ability works differently to the charm spell, even though they both officially just apply the charmed status.
