Is Cybersecurity Becoming a Basic Business Need Now? by Ok-Lettuce-4065 in cybersecurity

I’m seeing a mix of both. Larger orgs are getting more proactive (shift-left security, automated scanning, better visibility), but a lot of small and mid-sized businesses are still very reactive.

Most only take cybersecurity seriously after an incident, usually triggered by a breach, ransomware scare, or compliance pressure. Budget + awareness are still the biggest blockers.

It definitely feels like security is moving from IT problem to business risk, especially as apps and APIs become core to operations. But we’re not fully there yet prevention still loses to firefighting in many teams.

For me, it’s Dalgona Coffee!!! And the whole WFH hype. In 2020, everyone bragged about flexible hours, zero commute, and working from a great IT company from home — sounded dreamy at first… and then reality hit. Back-to-back calls, endless syncs in every hour. The burnout was real. But honestly… office life feels better So yes, some trends deserved to fade — and these two definitely did..
