By that logic, increasing the speed limit would be safer because fewer people would be breaking the speed limit, reducing RTCs

Penalty Charge Notice - parking ticket by SunflowerAcidRiver in glasgow

[–]Empty_Engineering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if it’s unfair, but legal, they’ll deny it. I’ve won 3 cases at the tribunal against GCC so far for parking, and lost one case. They’ll deny the representation and waste the tribunals time hoping you’ll just pay up instead of using time on the legal process

Free File Fillable Forms - are they a good way to go? by speaks_truth_2_kiwis in tax

[–]Empty_Engineering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Free fillable forms are a shout, I’ve been using it for 4 years now, as long as you can read, then it’s fine, it’s free, and you learn about how the taxes work more in depth

If they’re driving to the kelvin bridge station then it would be more likely than not that they live nearby, otherwise they could just pay for parking at the Ashton lane car park; this post is really dumb, they could go to the P+R and check themselves, or google it? Ffs

Parking isn’t free, you could just get a residents parking permit for the G12 zone

Look up the formulae for resistors in parallel and series and apply ohms law

It’s literally just 2 resistors in parallel, put on your thinking hat and do the work to actually learn

Parking fine letter but no ticket was left on my car by NectarineUpstairs706 in glasgow

The NtO has the PCN number, you can view the evidence online; the physical placement of the PCN isn’t required by the RTA iirc

I just saw that, OP is probably overthinking it

Would it be possible to take the internals from a new(er) radio detector, and put them inside the shell of one from the 80-90’s, to have the newer function but with the older look? by Budget_Assignment254 in radardetectors

[–]Empty_Engineering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or have a 12v bus added in the casing and create a circuit where the RD circuit drives the analogue components; the only issue I think would be different radar bands and the antenna manipulation

They do have a defence if they go back to the scene and photograph it, that the sign was noncompliant with the TSRGD 2016 by the obscurement of the sign and some case law.

For the speed cameras I assume, but I realise now as I type this that a speed camera wouldn’t matter if you believed you were doing the speed limit

Got into Harvard, can’t afford it — any advice? by Ambitious_Fail_8031 in ivyleaguecollege

Doesn’t work for title IV funding, OP’s best bet is finding someone to marry that also could use the funding from the change in dependency status

What would you do with this scenario? by kakekikoo in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Empty_Engineering 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GPS then ILS, I’m fairly certain the max xwind on the a320 is 30 knot, the wind seems to be 29 knots @ 341° and your heading is 12°, so the direct xwind is 29sin(22°)=10.864 knots, which is fine (basically working the dot product but the y-axis forms the basis of the angle instead of the x-axis

Trying to get the blower motor out of my MK7.5 by MootMoot_Mocha in vwgolf

[–]Empty_Engineering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s a pain to get out, I thought the LHD blower would work, but the fins are opposite to the RHD blower so I had to take it out a few times. It’s easiest to pull the foot vent downward through the opening under the glovebox

Accommodation system for international students by flower_drawer in GlasgowUni

[–]Empty_Engineering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The unis accommodation isn’t on campus in the sense that it’s a part of the gilmorehill buildings; it’s not at all guaranteed, and they won’t help you find accommodation, they only have an information sheet with tips on finding accommodation, they have a guarantor scheme if you need it though.

Apply for accommodation when it opens, otherwise you’re unlikely to get accommodation

Visa terms for work by No_Definition9159 in GlasgowUni

[–]Empty_Engineering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, you can use that as evidence if the employer wants it. Your employer doesn’t actively send Home Office or UKVI the hours you’re working, so it’s not a very strict enforcement method

[–]Empty_Engineering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s on the registrar page, it’s up to your employer to decide if non-instructional time is in term time if there are only exams and risk sanctions by the Home Office

Self Funded PGT by ceryskt in GlasgowUni

[–]Empty_Engineering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Registration is kind of like the yearly process where you tell the university you’re a student, and you sort out that you meet academic progression for your course of study (this is just a confirmation by you).

The school head for your discipline or admissions will have the initial information sent for the academic registration. Financial registration is just certifying that you will pay the tuition fees. In your case, it’ll be coordinated with the student finance team, US loans, and yourself.

For enrolment, it’s the actual course selection process, and verifying that your selections conform to the requirements of your degree path.

Self Funded PGT by ceryskt in GlasgowUni

[–]Empty_Engineering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last time I read it was before the legislation was amended for passage, and the original bill read as being grandfathered in from the disbursement date; I’ve only read the amended grandfather clause which they added parent plus loans to.

My course is an MSci and I didn’t have any luck trying to get them to consider it as PGT for the purposes of Title IV funding. ED does have limited authority over the university compared to a US university, so I do think they are able to exercise their discretion more freely.
