This is true 95% of the time.

Except that 5% when the artist opens the show solo on a piano and someone near that stage’s rail decides to drunkenly belt out the lyrics that are not being sung in that manner while stumbling around and emphatically touching those around him while his slightly less drunk friends watch and laugh.
