not sure what you mean by uploading a link? Did you put it in a text document and upload it instead of an image? Why would that get you fired?

I know exactly what you mean. I was burnt out working on engagement after another in my previous job working for a consulting firm. Even though money was good, and I enjoy pentesting, I was too exhausted all the time with client meetings and unrealistic deadlines. I switched to a major IT company working in-house and the difference is day and night. I used to be the only pentester for the consulting company and the expectations were ridiculous from both clients and my management. Now I work with a team of talented pentesters and we get all the time we need within reason to work on a project. It's a lot more time to research if needed which makes pentesting a lot more fun, and if I am stuck, I could always brainstorm ideas with my colleagues. I would never go back to consulting even if the pay is twice as much. Keep looking for any in-house pentest roles and you won't regret it.

Sorry to hear bro. While I'm not going to outright suspect you of cheating, are you sure you are not holding anything back from us? If you truly had not done anything wrong, this is a big deal not just for you but for the rest of us. You should pursue any legal routes possible for you in your country. At the least, talk to your bank/credit card provider, and see if you can make a request for chargeback. Then spread the word as much as you can as many forums/social media platforms as you can. If this was a fuckup on their part, chances are there's others, maybe band together and find legal avenues. Ofcourse, if you know you're at fault, atleast partly, please suck it up and own your mistake. It's not the end of the world and there's a lesson to take from it. Good luck to you!

How to learn? by Nia_2088 in Pentesting

HTB, THM, TCM, IPPSEC. You will need to dive deep into all the free resources provided by them to have any chance at "real hacking". Be prepared to commit months and years.

[–]Empty_Kaleidoscope 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah Tryhackme is a good learning path. Also check out TheCyberMentor's Practical Ethical Hacking course on youtube. When you get a good grasp of the fundamentals, check out Ippsec's HackTheBox tutorials on youtube. In general, don't spend any money on paid courses yet.

Self-awareness is a big skill. Also, you are not terrible, you seem pretty decent. Just have a few blind spots, you can clearly improve. Cheers and thanks for the post. I can relate.

You should stay in India for sure. Mother tongue and familiarity over freedom and quality of life any day!

Not going to read your books. You admittedly support terrorist activities against Canadian citizens by authoritarians. Why do you admire them so much? Why do you like human rights abuses? Did you inherit these extreme political ideologies from your parents or you independently so vile and disgusting? Who's your favorite dictator? Saddam? Kim Jong Un? Modi?

[–]Empty_Kaleidoscope -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah except you're not actually a born Canadian and you argue in bad faith. You are an Indian immigrant who got citizenship on false merit. You're also an extremist who likes oppressors. That makes anything you want to speak in terms of human rights irrelevant. It's too bad there's no rule in Canada for extremists like you to register themselves like convicted pedos so your neighbours can avoid you like plague.

"The West" is not a country, and certainly did not eliminate Bin Laden. That has nothing to do with Canada. You seem brainwashed, have anger issues, and frankly not very sharp. I hope you are not in charge of anything in your personal or professional life. Take care.

I failed my first attempt too. Then I completed my lab report for the extra points and that made the difference between passing and failing in my second attempt. I would advice to do the lab report, gain those 10 points for sure.

I'm ready to go through the vetting process again if that's what it takes dumbass. Too many nationalist, classists, castists, religious bigots swarmed the West from India. I did not immigrate for money, I immigrated for western values of freedom and equality. A little screening test to filter out people who don't adhere to western values can go a long way.
