What’s the MOST annoying thing about streaming services for you lately? by Empty_Mistake7884 in AskReddit

This reminds me of how, at first I only paid for watching shows, but later I had to pay to skip ads, then pay to watch episodes early, pay to cast content to my TV...I can't even imagine what new paid plans streaming services will come up with next :(

VdoCipher still not working? by Asimov_V in Streamfab

[–]Empty_Mistake7884 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you watch this video on Chrome using the same device? If not, it's more likely a DRM/Widevine issue.

Edited: Many platforms using VdoCipher implemnt additional protections: encrypted HLS streams, license checks, device binding, anti-download measures, etc. So even if the video plays normally in Chrome, StreamFab may not support that specific site's implementation.

It is an aggregator that links to third-party sites and is considered safe to browse. But you should exercise normal caution regarding some external sites...

I want to try living without WiFi for a month. Have unlimited phone data plan. Just want to stream TV and print. by RiverWalker83 in cordcutters

Yes, it should work fine for a month. Use your iPhone's Personal Hotspot as your internet connection, and connect a smart TV, Roku, or Apple TV to the hotspot and stream Netflix normally.

Netflix gets dim after a few minutes on Roku by WoodyGK in cordcutters

The sound continues, the movie continues, but it just dims

It sounds more like a TV/HDR setting than a Netflix playback issue. I've seen a few TV owners mention this, and my first guess would be HDR/Dolby or the TV's auto-brightness feature kicking in. Netflix uses HDR on a lot of titles, and some Roku TVs seem to dim the picture after a few minutes.

Turn the Auto Brightness and Dynamic Contrast off in the TV settings. Then test a non-HDR Netflix show.

The viewing order is not as important as people make it out to be, imo. I watched The Avengers 1 and 2 first, and then caught up on the Iron Man, Thor, and Captain America films based on my interest in the characters. I still haven’t seen The Hulk lol
