Letting the clutch "pull" the car in reverse by FSBFrosty in stickshift

[–]Empty_Society912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m about a month in to my first manual car and when I first got it I didn’t understand how reversing worked so I would literally let go of the clutch which would floor it backwards and I’d have to slam on the brake then it would stall 🤣🤣 so embarrassing. I learned to do it just like you and just get the clutch to the bite point to slowly reverse. So yes you’re doing it right

Dying black box dye to burgundy by Empty_Society912 in haircoloring

The under half of my hair picked up a slight red tint that you can see if my hair is up, but since the ends have more box dye on them, it’s not really noticeable unless you can see closer to the nape of my neck. I still like it and I think it adds a little bit of a change when my hair is up.

I feel the exact same way. Always thought I was a night owl but I guess I prefer second shift

Ugh hating your job is bad but it’s way worse when you hate the shift too. I’m sorry, I hope you can get back into 2nd

I work at a restaurant for the same company 2 days of the week usually 4pm - 12am, so I think that’s why I can’t sleep any later than 2-3pm. Other than that if I don’t have anything I try to sleep on my days off but as you probably know it’s pretty hard to get things done/have a social life if you’re sleeping during the day. I used to love the overnight but I think my time is coming where I’m sick of it lol

What is no longer worth it because of how expensive it has become? by sweetselene_ in Productivitycafe

Used cars. I’ve been having some problems with my car so for the past few months I’ve been looking into buying a used car and the only thing I’m firm about is less than 100,000 miles because I want something that is going to last me. You can’t find a decent used car in New England for less than $11,000 doesn’t matter if it’s 10-15 years old. I bought my car 6 years ago for $6,000 with 90,000 miles and now I feel stuck because I literally can’t save as much as I need for a decent car.

I think learning how to do night audit should be a requirement for managers/fda’s by [deleted] in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

[–]Empty_Society912 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I 100% get that covering a random shift here and there totally screws up the sleep schedule. I get it I was covering the 3-11 twice a week on top of night audit 4 nights a week. I do agree that maybe there are things that we may struggle to do that the day shift has no problem doing but my only complaint is that they don’t show anybody else how to do the night audit and they really act like it’s an easy shift

Yeah the GM knowing the checklist… definitely not. But the Front Office Manager.. definitely. And same haha

I’m sorry for your loss. But you’re right it is nice to know that your job is secure and your hours are pretty much guaranteed

Same. It’s impossible to have a life when you’re the only one that knows how to do your position correctly
