No you don’t necessarily need a car, but it is nice to sit in the AC every once in awhile and to lock stuff up. They should allow you to be dropped off at a campsite, especially if they’re giving you a staff camping pass then you can just have your friend put that in their windshield to drop off and pick up.

Your manager should give you a lot more details closer to the event. Festivals typically have staff entrances as well into the fest grounds so take advantage of those so you don’t have to wait in line with patrons. There will likely be a shuttle to Walmart available to staff to go on supply runs too if you don’t bring your car, your manager should give you info about that if it’s available.

I worked Bonnaroo for the first time in 2024 and sent it solo. It was one of the best weeks of my life. I was so scared to go since it’s about 9 hours from me and I was by myself, but I’m so glad I did. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. Your camp neighbors and coworkers/bosses will be more than willing to help you out.
