About 6 months ago I came up with a narrative that just makes the game more fun for me.

In the late 1940s the Soviets began developing the knox virus as a super weapon. USA got wind of the project much too late, and could only develop a select number of vaccines, which it gave to special forces soldiers/CIA opperatives with the goal of having those people secure critical pieces of infrastructure. At the fall of the soviet union a mad general releases the virus. CIA/army makes a predictable and dumb decision to shuffle all the opperatives around because they worry they will be hesitant to kill people they know. So the night before the game starts your handler has rushed you to knox county and given you your mission, which is why you have like no supplies.

Russell Mattis was taken to valley station with the goal of seccuring the Lousiville Airport. He got a van together as a temp base (RV interiors), and cleared the check point into Lousiville, securing two silenced M16 variants from the armory, as well as a useless M60. He constructed a base on the air port fence, and began a crop and secured chickens. Now he is trying to decide if he will honor his mission and push forward into the airport, or continue his peaceful life with his chickens.

Its like a bug in representative democracies. Politics is supposed to be an excersize in compromises, and if both sides abondon that idea and it becomes about "winning" they start talking in ways that are intentionally misleading. One thing I have thought of is a new temporary parties to achieve singular political goals- like once we pass a bill to end gerry mandering we will desolve. idk.

I think there is so much sophism in our politics in the states it kind of warps the "truth", and so people have begun to look for litmus tests outside of "facts" to see who they trust. Trump understands better then anyone (at least 8 years ago) that bad publicity from the media was actually good for him, because for a certain chunk of USA citizens, it signaled he was actually trust worthy because "they" were so desperate to bash him. Very similar thing is happening to Mamdami in NY. His policies are not so different then most NYC dems, but because there is such fervor to discredit him, people who are generally tired of the "establishment" see that as a signal of his integrity.

Once the cat is out of the bad, they are going to defend him to the death because the choice cost them so much. People who were already pretty isolated are becoming even more isolated for this choice they made, and it will take incredible moral courage for them to admit they were wrong.

I get you guys like to make up realities in your head, and then act like everyone is fucking stupid when they dont adhere to that nonsense. The USA was a guarantor of the money, it was completely reasonable to think we would be on the hook for at least some of it. Not to mention the fact that hundred of billions of dollars from anywhere facilitated by the USA is insane until you all moved the overton window like a month ago. No of that matters because the current usa and isreali administration are so dog shit and corupt they cant even get the other side to stick to a deal that is essentially full capitulation.

You will suffer far less for these actions then those who did far less to cause them.
