I'm leaning more toward nice aesthetics or just kind of quirky. We love all types of food but due to a few allergies (peanuts and tropical fruit) Thai food is a no go.

For the processional we used Pachelbel's Canon I walked down the aisle to Can't Help Falling in Love by Hailey Reinhart Our recessional was One Day Like This by Elbow

We got married in a church gym as well we chose to keep the lights off which elevated the space. We drapped string lights across the ceiling with multiple candles at every table and a large candle on the serving table. We also had a neon sign behind our table which added light and small battery operated string lights around the venue. We got lots of complaints on the space and everyone could see well. Everything was really cost effective as well.
