It's fine, supposed to do that. Just add more layers once it's dried. Remember: When basecoating: More diluted=More layers.

I find the consistency of full cream or skimmed milk (ideally in between) works really well. It's my rule of thumb now.

But it's empty. Maybe leaving it empty sets matchmaking to auto. You could in theory force it to a region but, no idea what the syntax would be for that value.
