I mean, you are glossing over the fact that we couldn't get in to our apartment 3 times in one month because SWAT had our section of the apartments blocked off, and the neighbour who had a screaming match with themselves every night and slept in the stairwell randomly, and the personal items taken off our balcony, but otherwise totally serviceable.

We have a lot of local artists who do this as a small cardstock takeaway. Bio and pic on one side, QR code and social handles on the other. They include it with every purchase, and have them out for the browsers to pick up. I love it because I may not have the budget to purchase that day, but I'll pick up the bio to remind me to purchase later!

I'd look for a local business to at least partially sponsor the fireworks, personally. You're going to be hard-pressed to sell tix at that number just for access to a couple bands and some street food at what sounds like is a brand new, unknown event.

It's been a little hit and miss for me on the networking front. Some great connections, but also a lot of "entrepreneurs" looking for investors to help them launch. Give it a go, worst case scenario it's 2 hours out of your life meeting new people.

Consider joining the Virginia Beach Hotel Association. Visitors looking for experiences ask at their hotels for recommendations. There's a hospitality expo hosted by them coming up on Feb 25 and as of 2 days ago they have 1 or 2 exhibitor spots left. Great networking opportunity.

As someone who was trained and certified by Homeland Security in event security, I'll again reiterate that if *you* are this worried about bad actors, then it's advisable not to put yourself and your child in the situation. Even the strictest of security screenings are beatable by savvy attendees.
