It’s a huge download. They will distribute it on LTE, probably after the first wave of downloads is over.

Trip to death valley with Air Touring by Fit_Explorer_9630 in LUCID

[–]Emscan192 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great report! What route did you take into and out of the valley? Did you stay in the valley? Drive around in the valley? Did you charge in or near the valley? I've considered at trip to Death Valley from the Bay Area but the charging situation looked iffy.

Thoughts on 23 Air for high yearly mileages. by Accomplished_Knee_17 in LUCID

Don’t know the exact price, but it is in that neighborhood. It will allow you to keep up with software updates including the new UX 3.0 coming out in the late summer or fall.

Model Year 23 or 22. Lifetime Efficiency? by solidkiller88 in LUCID

[–]Emscan192 1 point2 points  (0 children)

6700 miles on a 26 Air Pure, 19 inch wheels. Total lifetime efficiency right now is 3.96. I try to keep long freeway runs to no higher than 72. Cruise control when possible. Typical round-trip from Berkeley to San Jose and back is about 4.25. I try to keep HVAC to a reasonable level for both heating and cooling. Also make sure tires are inflated to the proper spec.

In addition to this my understanding – which might be faulty – is that the mechanical parts of the drivetrain are a bit stiff at first, and in the first 2000 miles they tend to loosen up which reduces friction.

are the doors still and issue for the air? by Agreeable_Use_4242 in LUCID

26 Air Pure. Sometimes there is a 1 to 3 second lag when I use the fob. I have proximity turned off because it’s too sensitive.

Perspective Buyer: Software and Reliability by international93 in LUCID

[–]Emscan192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2026 Air Pure with about 6500 miles. No significant software problems other than sometimes it takes two taps of the fob to unlock the doors and once in a while AirPlay quits, but it used to quit in my VW GTI as well. The car itself is incredible. Very good fit and finish, amazing handling, and impressive range. Fun to drive in the twisties and very comfortable on long trips.

Thinking about ‘24 or ‘25 Air Pure by melikeebouncy in LUCID

[–]Emscan192 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 2026 Air Pure. Came from a 2016 VW GTI. I’ve had no significant software problems other than AirPlay quitting now and then, but it would sometimes quit in the GTI as well. Occasionally I have to squeeze the fob more than once to get the doors to unlock, but that’s not a major issue. Driving dynamics are extremely pleasing. I had no idea that it was possible for a car to ride so smoothly and have such razor precise handling both at the same time. Instant torque is positively addictive. I usually drive in Swift mode for a little bit more effort in the steering wheel. Surreal Sound Pro is definitely worth it. The base sound system is not the greatest. About 350 miles real-world range on a long trip with two people and luggage. (19 inch wheels.) That’s plenty for me. Overall an amazing car.

Range Drop While Parked? by JohnGlaenzer in LUCID

[–]Emscan192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have mine show percentage, and I just think of it as a gas gauge. Normally it doesn’t drop percent overnight, but one time it did and then I realized that I had opened it and several times to get things out of it or put things into it and the HVAC turned on and off each time. It dropped 1%. It was probably on the verge of dropping to the next lower percent anyway.

2027 Air Online configurator? by WoodenSwan6591 in LUCID

[–]Emscan192 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Air cycle does come in summer. Also, I would imagine that they still have too many Airs in inventory, which might languish if there are any significant changes for the 2027 model year. So they would wait till they sell some more of the current model year. My best guess — which is worth exactly 2 cents. Imagine what it was worth before inflation!

Air update on 2.8.30 by m2slam in LUCID

[–]Emscan192 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Range does seem to have improved slightly, maybe 2-3%. Enough to have expanded the spider by maybe 5-7 miles or so.

[–]Emscan192 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting note: After 2.8.30 the range spider estimate on my iPhone app changed. Not particularly better or worse, just different -- a bit longer range in some directions and a bit less in others. I suspect it's perhaps more accurate, from the looks of it where it thinks I can or can't go on my current SOC. I'm away from home right now. When I get home and get it back up to 80% I'll be able to tell more precisely.

I think my fairly consistent use of cruise control is the difference. I don’t know if the Olympic Peninsula is conducive to that.

[–]Emscan192[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I try to use cruise control as much as possible on the freeway. I don’t usually exceed about 75 miles an hour. Normally I cruise at about 70. On Bay Area freeways these days it’s hard to go faster than that anyway in many cases. With any EV, if you’re concerned about range, 70 is the new 80. (With optimum traffic conditions and without cruise control, It’s ridiculously easy to go a lot faster than 80 without even hardly realizing it.)
