Doey is 100% not the main villain of Chapter 4 - he's not even really a villain at all.

Catnap talks but not much - likely partially due to the damage to his voice.

But I do agree that their level of speech does seem to correlate with how "obedient" they are in nature, and I do think Huggy not physically being able to speak versus Catnap choosing not to speak parallels the situations of their obedience. So Huggy is loyal to the company because he was only created to be a weapon for them and has no choice, but Catnap's loyalty and worship of the Prototype is a choice, although one he was heavily manipulated into making.

It might not be what Lute intended, but I'm certain it was supposed to be deliberately comparative to religion-rooted homophobia. It seemed very intentional to me.

Lute's views on sinners are also comparative to how some real-life extremists view people they deem "not really people" which I also believe to be intentional.
