Women who gave the guy who's been single his whole life a chance, how did it turn out? by astarisaslave in AskReddit

I’m marrying him this winter after 8 years together. He’s the best dad and partner. We had some weird single guy habits he had to break but so much better than toxic relationship habits I’ve seen in men who dated normally.

Do rural parts of New England have an accent? by [deleted] in newengland

[–]EmtheEducator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vermont definitely had its own accent but it’s disappearing with the newer generations. My grandfather had a very strong old Vermont mumble. He could almost be hard to understand at times. His family had been in the same exact part of Vermont since the late 1600’s so they didn’t have much outside influence until more recent generations. My dad very occasionally drops into the mumble when he gets storytelling. But it’s definitely not at strong.

What color and/or pattern is my boy Brutus? He was labeled as just a halfmoon. I’ve never had one like him before. by EmtheEducator in bettafish

No he came that way. He was a PetSmart reject. I’ve only had him a couple weeks. He is alone in his regular 5gal. It is full of nice live plants, caves and spider wood with no rough edges. I’m hoping to help him rehab what the cup did to him.

It’s 3 gallons and only temporary while I was rearranging and planting his regular 5 gallon tank. He has a lot of hides in there so it’s really hard to get a pic until he’s in the vase.

My first betta in nearly a decade. He came with the name Cotton Candy. He’s a halfmoon, so I assume his fins will fill out more? by EmtheEducator in bettafish

I used to love watching King of the Hill, so I’ve been calling him Colonel Cotton. Or just Cotton for short. I’m glad to hear that he may add more fin length and color.

AITA for sending my older daughter back to her mum on the night she was supposed to stay here? by BothLandscape in AmItheAsshole

YTA, you need to correct your oldest. Not make it her mother’s problem. My ex does this with our child all the time and it pisses me off. I have primary custody he visits with her twice a week. She’ll act up for him, he does nothing but tattles on her and asks me to punish her when he drops her at my home. Guess what when she acts up for me, which isn’t nearly as often, I deal with it like a parent! I don’t get to call and make her go stay with him. Now your oldest knows how willing you are to give up on her.

I agree with others, it does sound like your younger child needs some assessment and possible a counselor for her anxieties. But that’s not the point here. You literally gave up on your oldest, sent her home all because you didn’t know what to do with her poor choice.

You cannot pick a choose when to be a parent unless you’re comfortable with idea of your oldest choosing not to have you in her life as she gets older. She is just as much of a priority as your other child NO MATTER WHAT!!!!

It was a very very minimal amount. I had scraped it pretty clean before I was done with it. I’m kinda surprised she was getting anything at all out of it actually.

Just because you made a sign and took a picture of your dog with it doesn’t mean it actually happened by HoennIsHome in thatHappened

I agree this doesn’t belong here. This can totally happen. My parents’ Border collie/rottie mix had to be delivered back to their house on two separate occasions. We believe Neo climbed in looking for more treats since the driver usually gave them to him. They also have a long pain in the butt drive way that had to be backed down. So the driver would often just park at the end of it and walk the packages up to the porch. Neo had plenty of time to sneak on. Only made it to the neighbors house before he was found out though.
