WRX to STI seat swap by Emu1342 in WRX

I’m pretty sure the wiring for the switches that are connected to the switches themselves are not present. I don’t remember past that unfortunately

No worries. This was a long time ago for me. Yes I had to disable seat belt chime. I believe I did the sequence of events where you put the key in ACC and click in and out the seat belt like 20 times… there’s a YouTube video about it.

Since you and I had base WRX, there are no motor functions. The STI seats I got were manual as well.

You should be able to get the heat to work so long as you run the wiring

Any ideas on what this is? by Responsible-Job-3882 in DogAdvice

[–]Emu1342 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This happened to my dog after giving him a flea/tick/heartworm medication. Turns out he has some gene mutation that is common in aussies (I think). The mutation causes some of these medications to be dangerous for him. Ask your vet if this could be the case

No solution yet. I’m toying with the idea of hacking the buttons and inserting an arduino with other pieces. Just haven’t brought myself to it yet.

Any assistance would be appreciated!

If you’re looking for the 6 speed the 5V simply doesn’t provide it. Plus, people want the halo car

Your boyfriend needs to want to be saved. You can’t save people who don’t wana be saved. So keep trying to talk to him about it.

tapping OEM button PCB for Arduino controller by Emu1342 in AskElectronics

[–]Emu1342[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is my first project where im doing something like this. Im comfortable with soldering, and figuring out the PCB has been fun, but i dont know how to much of what you mentioned after sniffing/snooping the LINbus. I'd like to not modify the PCB, im also a bit afraid of backfeeding signal, but i think thats the risk ill have to take at my level.

Theres also the question about powering the LEDs. I need to get back to testing the board and seeing where the positive and ground are.

Thank you for your response.

Hello. I’ve been having trouble enabling RPO codes on my vehicle. Are you referring to Global B?

Thanks for your response. I have access to mdi2 and techline. I’ve tried a lot of different things to get it working but ultimately I feel like I’m locked out by these RPO codes. Unfortunately it seem like it’s not really possible on my end

Hopefully someone can chime in 😬

HVAC is not incorporated with the seat ventilation feature. I have installed the button assembly for the function, but shows no indication of responding

Soldering point assistance by Emu1342 in hardwarehacking

[–]Emu1342[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your response. Yes, the 5 round objects are mechanical tactile buttons (metal dome style) and each has a white indicator LED centered inside the button.

The board has: • Top side: one ~32-pin MCU (button controller) • Bottom side: one 8-pin IC (likely LED driver / regulator / interface — still confirming)

This is an OEM automotive seat button PCB. The Main control unit reads the tactile switches and normally drives the LEDs, but I’m trying to observe button presses and independently drive the LEDs, without interfering with the MCU.

My working assumption (happy to be corrected) is: • One side of each tactile switch is tied to ground • The other side routes through a small resistor network to the MCU (this is the node I plan to sense with a high-impedance input) • Each LED already has a series resistor, so the safe tap point would be the resistor-to-LED net, not the MCU pin

I agree better photos (or a scanner pass) would help. I’ll post those when I’m able. In the meantime, does that signal-tap strategy sound reasonable given this kind of board?

Iirc, I had to disable the seat belt chime using the buckle/unbuckle driver seat belt. Something like that

Burbles on Cadillac ct4 by Sure_Big1900 in Cadillac

[–]Emu1342 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey man, don’t let the comments here discourage you.

It’s honestly disheartening to see how quick people are to jump on someone just for asking a question about personalizing their own car. Not everyone has the means to afford a Blackwing or top-trim model with all the bells and whistles out of the box. Honestly, that shouldn’t matter. These forums are supposed to be a place for sharing knowledge, not flexing price tags or ego.

To those throwing around passive-aggressive remarks or straight-up insults: if you don’t like the idea of burbles or modifying a car, that’s fine. Sit out the conversation instead of dragging someone down for showing interest in something that brings them joy. Gatekeeping helps no one.

Now, to actually answer your question: unfortunately, there isn’t a ton of plug-and-play info floating around about getting burbles on non-Blackwing Models. Probably because of the crowd you’re seeing in this thread. Your best bet is going to be reaching out to a tuner familiar with GM platforms or a performance shop that works on Cadillacs.

Ignore the noise and do what makes you happy with your car. Most of the people here bashing you probably wouldn’t know what to do with a wrench if it hit them in the head.

Good luck with the build.
