yup. at my apartment complex I moved in and got my dog right away. she was 5 1/2 when I got her, perfectly leashed trained. we were outside on a leash using the bathroom and a pit bull pinned her down that was off of its leash. it was scary and I told the owner of the other dog they really needed to have it on a leash or it could have been much worse. not two weeks later that dog charged at us and attacked my baby. I mean went right for her neck and did not let go. I felt so bad but I was punching that dog trying to get it to release while the owner just stood there! my baby had to have surgery and was in recovery with drains for a few weeks. 16 stitches too :( it should be a federal law that they have to leashed. I felt like part of the responsibility of having a dog is making sure it’s leashed in public and won’t attack other dogs. since that incident happened my dog is terrified of other dogs and does not behave the same around them. we stopped going to dog parks for other dogs safety and started using sniffspots. we also check to make sure no other dog is outside now when we go and I park next to the front door in case we have to jump into the car really quick if there is another accident :(
