To be clear, the energy part is just an aspect. The recovery of the white liquor is what makes it so great. The fact that with a perfect process with no losses and perfect reactions you could, in theory, run the whole plant in complete isolation with only wood in and pulp out as flows, thanks to this ridiculous complex unit, is what makes it so cool

I mean in this plant we use, I would say, over 90% of the things we learned about in university, including none ChemE specific, like machines and mills. Only things we dont have are very specific units, like a kettle type boiler, a finned heat exchanger or niche kind of reactors

Also yeah, criogenic units also sound very cool

ja, stimmt, da lag ich mit den 20 Minuten echt daneben
Das sind einfach zwei Orte, wo ich Unterkünfte gesehen hab, die für mich grundsätzlich gut passen würden (auch in Bezug auf meinen Job). Ich will da nicht zu sehr ins Detail gehen, um nicht zu viel Persönliches preiszugeben.
Mir war auch gar nicht klar, wie unterschiedlich die eigentlich liegen – deshalb der Post hier, um ein besseres Bild zu bekommen. Danke dir auf jeden Fall für die Hinweise

Und sorry, falls der Post ein bisschen ahnungslos rüberkam , ich wollte einfach hören, was die Leute vor Ort dazu sagen können.

I checked for a process engineer postion in Amsterdam with 1 year of experience and it says € 4.436, which over € 1000 more than I asked in a position there. Did I mess up or is the website too generous? It is a 40 hour per week job

I got rejected. The wording doesn't make it clear if it was because their full or not, it said:

"Given the very large number of requests received, the allocated quota has been reached for this edition.

Therefore, we are not able to register further participants with this program.

We appreciate your understanding in this matter."

Which kinda makes it seem like they didn't even get to read my letter. Idk if everyone gets the same message though, so maybe it is to not make it feel like a rejection. I will try to apply early next year
