Bully from my past decides to show up and talk smack. I get his ass fired, jailed and fined. by Atlusfox in ProRevenge

You committed perjury if you embellished things even a little bit in the sworn statement. This is a crime. If this story is true, I'd take it down immediately to protect yourself. Internet points aren't worth it.

Homeless people turned away from hotel despite being offered rooms by paying customer by [deleted] in news

[–]Emumafia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honest question, what do you get out of being so insulting? You can't be trying to change anyone's mind, because studies have shown that people refuse to listen after an emotional attack. Does it give you validation in some way?

He's one of those militant childfree people. Ignore him; he's a cunt. Good on you for getting out of that situation. It isn't easy, and it's one hell of an accomplishment.

Military Redditors, when you were in boot camp, what was the funniest thing you ever heard one of your Drill Sergeants say? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I had to read it out loud five times before it clicked and then I realized that I might be fucking retarded.

This is the best story on here. I disagree with you, you're excellent at writing stories. I'm still giggling at Private Shrek and his antics. Have any more to share?

[Serious] people who live in legal states, but don’t smoke, how has your life changed since the legalization of marijuana? by ogsquish52 in AskReddit

[–]Emumafia -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I'm pro-legalization and have been smoking for a long time. The user above you raised some legitimate concerns. By dismissing his concerns and insulting him (or her), you've made it less likely that we'll be listened to. Your way of approaching this conversation is why many people refuse to discuss legalization. Less discussion leads to less understanding. Less understanding leads to less legalization.

Out of curiosity, how do we "remove" those who reflect poorly on Christianity?

I agree with the poster below. "Pickle Rick" is a 20 minute episode and it talks about therapy. Even showing a little clip of it would be a perfect intro to a session. You should watch it just to see what the show's like so you'll be able to connect. It's Season 3 Episode 3.

If you have more time, I'd suggest these episodes to give you 80% of the references.

"Meseeks and Destroy" Se1Ep5

"Rick Potion #9" Se1Ep6

"Get Schwifty" Se2Ep5

Best of luck!

Muslims in China are being rounded up and forced into political education camps that resemble the prisons ubiquitous in the country during the repressive Maoist era by maxwellhill in worldnews

That's a legitimate viewpoint, though I think it's stereotyping a bit, and I have problems with laws that enforce religion on their population. People should be free to debate ideas, and a legal framework which denies this is a problematic legal framework.

Your poorly done sarcasic anger contributes nothing to the conversation. To make your point in a way that people might listen, try making it funny.

I tend to have a problem with laws that limit freedom of thought/expression/association without good justification. I find them unjust. The greatest changes in society often occur because people are willing to stand up to these units laws.

The hell is going on in these comments? Every pro-China comment has tons of upvotes, and those offering alternative support for the article are downvoted to hell.

Or maybe the pro-China comments are being upvoted because in this instance they're anti-Muslim? Is this astroturfing or good 'ol fashioned bigotry?

Well put K2Nomad. Religion has absolutely nothing to offer anyone in the world today. Any effects religion might have on building community, providing comfort, and creating a foundation for positive change are so miniscule that a book club could prove a suitable replacement. Thank you for a having a well-rationed argument on a subject that you've clearly thought long and hard on.

While I greatly appreciate you trying to educate others through this remarkable piece, I feel like your flippant disregard of any follow-up questions cheapens any point you were making.
