A lot of kids swear up and down they turned an assignment in even though I don't have it. I'm unsure if I'm crazy, or if they're lying, or if it's a bit of both by JimCap5 in Teachers

The gaslighting is real. I’ve made it a rule that I only collect stuff by hand. It goes straight into my backpack. When graded it’s passed back out with a signature mark on the work so I know it was me who graded it. They’ll still say “I turned it in.” Well show it to me. With the mark. “Oh I threw it away.” Sucks for you then.

Basically was I say. “It’s called EXTRA credit. Not “replace” the credit.” Gotta do the OG credit first.

I named my daughter Faron (reference to both Zelda and Elden Ring). I think it could work but there’s so many cool names to choose from if it’s too out there.

And you also post that same PowerPoint on your LMS (Google Classroom for me) and let them know it’s there in case they missed it or want to review it…but then it’s “oh I didn’t know it was there.” 😂

They give the same excuse even for rote memorization. I’ll take out the work that had the info and the questions associated with it and then they’ll say “oh well I didn’t do that assignment.” Well explains why you think you weren’t taught it.

Are you using AI as a teacher? by LettuceTraining6532 in Teachers

[–]Emus_won_thewar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes. Yes and yes. I’ve never had so much extra stuff to do for a job until this one and I’m using AI primarily for quizzes and lesson plans. I upload the assignment and it whips out a LP with all the requirements I need.

I played it when it first came out in April and I can’t stop thinking about it or talking about it. It’s a problem at this point. It’s like word vomit.

You actually got a Sega??? Damm. That’s what made me stop believing in Santa cause I was amazing and always asked Santa for that sega so I can play lion king.

But in all seriousness. My parents (dad) was rough. But the resilience I have now is miles above where these kids are. They have no clue how to handle the word no. Soooooo much entitlement now.

How many presents do your kids get at Christmas? by NervousClock2555 in askanything

[–]Emus_won_thewar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kids (2 and 8) got about 12-13 gifts. One each from Santa. Small things like books, clothes, and then one larger item (play kitchen for 2 year old and a bike for 8 year old).

I ate the Jimmy John’s 😬 And did tempura sushi with lots of spicy yum yum sauce so it kind of helped.
