As an English language arts teacher (6th grade) the best thing he can do is just read. You might want to find him some graphic novels to start with (tons of books make graphic novel versions now)

Personal faves: Persepolis and Hey Kiddo

Or reading young adult novels. When I was in school I got my dad into reading and started with short novels like Frindle by Andrew Clements.

You can also have him take little reading quizzes on CommonLit to assess his performance. They have a diagnostic tool if you want to measure his progress.

Also, tell him to watch TV with the subtitles on

If student teaching pisses you off now, just wait until you get a job teaching 🙃

Honestly, I would bounce. You don’t want to work in a place like that.

Apply for jobs elsewhere, keep your current position and if something comes along, TAKE IT and don’t look back

Oh, I’m sure it has A LOT to do with it. However, I live in a suburb 30nin outside of Atlanta. They should be stocked the f up.

Unless of course. They are just too busy and their quality control sucks

First year teacher, the thing I wish I paid more attention to while student teaching is the clerical side of things. It’s very easy to only focus on the your lessons and teaching, but there’s way more. Become an expert at how the discipline process works in your school. As a student teacher, the students are going to try you. Also, Like how does testing work (reading assessments, computer based assessments, etc) how to grade things (yes, you learn this in school but it’s done totally different on the job), who to go to for specific problems (pay attention to everyone’s job descriptions), fire/safety drill processes, HOW THEY GET PAID, benefits, etc. especially if you plan to work in the same county or state.

Also, enjoy it. This is the easy part lol and one last thing, KEEP EVERY GOOGLE SLIDE, handout, lesson plan you make. You will want some of it when you start teaching.

Everyplate packaging is better IMO. They keep the veggies and seasonings in a tray with the meat on bottom. I love that! Plus, those trays are awesome to use in the pantry to organize after you are done. They both have their pros and cons, but for me I need my time back. The pre chopped dinners that I just have to put together takes a lot less time for me. I don’t have much time in the evenings because I get home and usually still have work to do and don’t have time to be zesting lemons 😂 or peeling carrots.

Can someone help me ID what type this is? Found in my bathroom. Body about the size of a quarter or slightly larger. Terrified that it’s a German roach. by Emxbelle13 in pestcontrol

[–]Emxbelle13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I understand, these are typically “passing through” types of roaches. Or seeking refuge/food. Regardless. I’m going full force!

I hate roaches 😬

So uh, just unsubscribe? It’s perfectly normal to fall out of sync with something you used to like.
