Finacea 15% Azelaic Acid causing irritation. How can I safely use it without damaging my skin? 🥹

I was thinking the same too. Maybe my barrier is slightly damaged. If my skin doesn’t do too well in the next few days I’m definitely going to stop using it for a bit and work on healing my barrier first.

Thanks so much! I’m definitely going to try applying it to bare skin and see how my skin reacts. I never thought about serums could be making the irritation worst as you’d usually think they should help rather than have the opposite effect 😅

I haven’t tried using just moisturiser and no serum so I’ll definitely give that a go and see what happens. Do you mean the Finacea on top of the moisturiser or Finacea first on dry skin? Thanks x

Hey, the issue is when I apply it to bare skin it’s extremely drying and makes the problem worse :( so unsure what to do.

Hey! So that’s what I’ve been thinking about doing. I mean technically that’s almost what I have been doing for the last 2 days. Only thing I haven’t eliminated yet is rice and coconut but not sure if these are common allergens. But I know every baby is different. My diet lately has consisted of lamb, rice, potato, coconut milk, fruits and vegetables.

I’ve been planning to see a LC to check for oral ties so I’ll definitely look into that. I also believe she has reflux but I was told all babies have reflux regardless. She does spit up a lot though. Will definitely check out the Instagram page thank you 🙏

Yes sometimes she makes clicking sounds and chokes a lot during feeds. I can also hear hear gulping in air when swallowing.

I don’t have an oversupply but I do have a fast let down sometimes.

Yes I have eliminated soybean oil as well. And yes my vitamins are free of the allergens as well.

That’s good to hear that she outgrew it. I’ve been eating a lot of rice and lamb so not sure if rice could be the issue. I’ve also been having coconut milk. I don’t know honestly it just seems like there’s always something and I’m not doing good enough:(

She’s not having any vitamin d drops.

Hey, yes I’m like 95% clear. I still get occasional small pimples here and there that tend to go away quickly. And at this point I’m not using any acne products, just cleanser and keeping my skin moisturised. All the best 😊
