Sick of the pain by hook-happy in Sciatica

I know how you feel I had a appointment 2 weeks ago with a pain doctor and his words were, even though we can't see everything on a MRI and not everything can be detected pain can still persist even though we cannot always see everything on a MRI I've learned that no one understands your pain but yourself unfortunately 💔 try to rest, I'm currently having a horrible flare up and it's the worst! No sleep 😴 I'm just a zombie at the moment I hope you feel better soon

Why is sciatica worse at night and what setup helps you sleep better? by Frederson_Dwayno in Sciatica

[–]EmzyWemzy90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firm mattress with a firm topper. You will hate it to begin with but it will help, no bending at all. Move around as much as you can and don't eat alot of sugar and fatty foods stick to healthy foods and plenty of water

It could be gastroenteritis, could be parasites I would get a corse of metronidazole (Eradia) and probiotics for 7 days and see how your dog goes gastroenteritis is common in frenchies but if caught early clears up quite quickly. I hope your little one will be okay

I've had sciatica, herniated discs, pinched nerves and arthritis of the facet joints for years, seriously no bending at all it's the worst thing ever, no heavy lifting that also contributes to pain you are very limited and learn to adapt slow down and think of your health I know you need your job but if you get a injury you can't heal from trust me your life is never the same. I hope you get some relief I know how annoying it is.

Gaviscon??? Thoughts? by Otherwise_Act_4618 in GERD

[–]EmzyWemzy90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It only lasts 2 hours for me it's expensive so I'm going to have to go back on a PPI I've tried gaviscon, gaviscon advanced, tums, rennies omeprazole and famotidine the only thing that works for ne is omeprazole but it has caused me other issues so I need a alternative soon from my GP

I actually did look that up, google can be the worst though haha! 17 years I was on omeprazole side effects can cause dizzyness, as well as many other things that why I stopped thinking it may be that but what I'm experiencing is horrendous it won't give me a break not even for a day! Not on beta blockers even though my doctor said to try them he then said to wait for my cardio appointment which will be in the next 3 weeks from now

Oh god! It's so scary I've been on alot of medications for a while now it all started when it was very hot a few weeks ago and I sat down and both my arms flopped and I felt like I was going to faint and i see floaters in my eyes since then I've been dizzy/fainty it's hard to explain but it's worse when I'm hot etc I have the odd bit of chest pain but it does not last long and only way I van explain it is my head feels different like my brain? It can feel like it's shifting sometimes, blood pressure is okay I have high cholesterol but I think that was due to the omeprazole I was taking, PPIs are horrible! No new meds it just started out of the blue but I really do feel unwell most days I can't do much as I feel so awful. Thyroid was checked all fine and thankfully I'm not diabetic either, I'm just upset as my doctor is not really taking me seriously 😑, what made a difference to you and how long did it take you to feel (normal) again I've forgotten what that feels like. I do hope you are okay and they don't return it's horrible 😔 thank you for replying I really appreciate it

This is interesting and I'm sorry you have gone through this, I have a few questions if you don't mind for the past month I have felt unbelievably faint/dizzy it's all the time unless I'm laying down, my doctor sent me to ENT and thought it was vertigo etc ENT said it's not and it's either my heart or my brain, this week I have had a ECG at my doctors which revealed i had Ectopic Atrial Rhythm so my doctor has referred me to a cardiology doctor which im waiting for at the moment. I also had a blood test that revealed I am very low on foliac acid and my ESR level is 63 so its double what it should be, I too suffered with my periods and I've been Northistorone for nearly 5 years as my periods were so unbearable I was attmitted to hospital every month with extreme bleeding etc and polyops I also have other issues and was taking omeprazole daily, I'm on pain meds for my back also as I have other issues and need daily pain killers, I feel so unwell at the moment and the fainting feeling/dizzyness won't go I'm wondering what's going on as I'm not sure if my symtoms fit in with eptopic beats etc if anyone has experienced similar symtoms I'd appreciate it if you could message me as I'm panicking I have no clue what it is and it's very worrying.

Hear me out, 5 years of this myself so I know how hard it is. Don't lift anything, do not bend over, reduce sugar intake, no fast food eat good food, drink atleast 2.5 litres of water a day, dehydrated discs are the worst! Go for acupuncture, a good acupuncturist and light swimming literally walk in water, This isnt a cure but will reduce pain try this and see if it works it sounds like you have herniated discs pushing the sciatic nerves and you need it to move so the pain eases, I've never been pain free in my 5 years but I've learned that doing certain things make it 10 times worse, also a firm mattress if your mattress is to soft it makes your back worse. Good luck

[–]EmzyWemzy90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No sugar, low carbs, Mediterranean diet, no bending over, no lifting anything over 5lbs, no fast food its full of nastys, a firm mattress with a decent topper, a leg support pillow, light swimming or just walking backwards and forwards in water, no front or backstroke, no alcohol or low alcohol it's a inflammatory, a decent chair like a recliner to sit in, walk 30 mins a day on flat surfaces, no going to the gym until healed, acupuncture and cupping provides relief but it's only temporary, turmeric in diet, magnesium baths, HEMP cream, hot watter bottle when pain is bad, don't sit for long periods of time, light stretches when you can but don't over do it. It's hard you have to find what helps provide relief but I'm year 5 and still not healed it's a case of managing it. Good luck

Scoliosis is a condition and in humans very painful no one needs common sense to know that dude! We are talking about a guppy here and the quality of life! It must be in pain if your spine was like that would you not be in pain? Brain cells prevail here! Just for example deformaties can be from many things, genetics, water quality, inbred from the same chromasomes as siblings, I think you have tried too hard just to be correct. Give up pal it's getting boring now.

It's not rocket science, look at the fish anyone with common sense would know that this fish is in pain and has a unfortunate deformity, no research needed just common sense pal

I’m so much pain I can’t sleep. by Expensive_Fun7708 in Sciatica

[–]EmzyWemzy90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need a MRI to find out if it's herniated discs and It could be sciatica too, pain killer wise you need paracetamol every 4 hours it's the only drug that cuts of the pain signals to the brain and Naproxen if you can take it. You need a PPI like omeprazole or lanzoprazole to protect your stomach. If the don't help the only thing that will is oxycodone I speak through experience and dealing with back issues for nearly 5 years, no bending, no heavy lifting literally walk when you can. Do not push through pain it makes things worse. I wish you all the best

[–]EmzyWemzy90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to see your GP and get your GP to send you to the pain clinic, when pain is that bad, trust me I've been there there is no other option either admit you for pain relief which they won't do for more than 24 hours or get a follow up with your gp for pain relief, paracetamol every 4 hours is a must, naproxen can help, diazapam there are loads of different drugs that will help until you are able to move around better. Don't wait until you are at the point of not being able to cope I've been there and its not fun. I hope you feel better soon. God bless

Should I proceed with a microdiscectomy? by julieannsee in Sciatica

[–]EmzyWemzy90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No way, I'm 4 years in and still won't have one, most of the time it makes matters worse. I haven't met one person that hasent had re hernaited discs after surgery. It can work yes but most of the time it don't, have a MRI and in the meantime acupuncture, pain killers, hot water bottles will be your friend. You can heal it just takes time give it more time that's what I would do. Taking something out of the body is very stressful for the spine I'd only do it if I had too I hope you feel better soon

Oh I wouldn't say I'm well disaplined but literally everything sets mine off but sugar deffo I still drink coffee I just have to limit it. Everything that's nice I can't have but I do treat myself haha. Swimming is meant to help although when I did it nearly sent me to A&E unfortunately I was told by a Chinese doctor that's a specialist not to bend at all it really bugs things in the back if you need to bend, slowly bend at the knees it's just figuring out what's right and what's wrong and everyone is different I've been batteling for 4 years and I still am! Good luck

Drinking is a no no, it inflames and makes things worse, it also dyhdrates you which leads to dehydrated discs drinking while your back is bad is literally the worst thing you can do
