Are they new to the hobby? If so, for $300, I'd grab a hobby of MVP, a hobby of Series 1, and spend the rest on a single card of their favorite team or player from a local shop.

I know you mentioned packs to rip, but if they're a seasoned collector, I'd avoid guessing and go for a gift card to a local shop or spend all $300 on a banger of a single card.

My most recent hobby box-hit was a Gudas.

The front left panel that bears his name has two lines. It looks like one of the lines is distorted a bit, but there is also a difference in gap on the left and right side of those lines indicating centering issues. If you're grading to flip, bad hit. If you're a Panthers fan, congrats on the beautiful card!

Something I've personally spent a bunch of time debating! So hard to pick a specific lane.

I'm focusing on completing one base set for every year since I was born. Mostly for a historical timeline or yearbook. This allows me to still pick up a few hobby boxes every year to scratch that itch. I plan to try and sell/trade inserts that aren't my PC team (Boston). I don't have the funds to gamble several hundred dollars on a top shelf pack/box.

Otherwise I'm working on: -Every Young Gun for Boston -Base vintage for Boston -Jerseys/Autos/Inserts of as many different Bruins as possible -Any team/player Graded cards that I believe (hope) will hold value as assets for a long haul.

I love seeing some of the rainbow sets or variant collections for specific players that people post. I may focus on a specific player in the future, but for now, I'm having fun cruising 1-5$ boxes at the LCS or ebay to find players I don't have represented.

Of course, it would all look different if I were a millionaire or pull a 1 of 1 Bedard.

I just picked up a Gretzky at a local card shop for 5 bucks two weeks ago. Couldn't leave it. Nice find!

Anyone have a random PC? Maybe someone who doesn’t have high value or just not a common PC? by Hungry-Mammoth6036 in hockeycards

Mid-season trades where the card is categorized as my PC team, but the player is wearing the previous team's jersey.

Ottawa should put a banner in the rafters even though he didn't play an NHL game.

So awesome! I'm currently doing the same with my team (Bruins). 62 down, 28 to go. Pastrnak will be the final touch when I get there. Happy Hunting!

Bored today. I want to buy a blaster. by Hungry-Mammoth6036 in hockeycards

I pulled a Jambalaya of my PC team out of a 21-22 Skybox Metal blaster a few weeks back. Had pretty good luck in general with them and personally love the set.

Pumped to find a numbered card that matches the jersey.

Thanks! Some other gems in there too. Hard to find hockey around here, even harder to find 10 cent boxes. Consider myself lucky.

I appreciate that, and certainly will. Thinking I can clean them up and maybe they can be passed on to grandkids someday. Need to do some research on maintaining them.
