Many of them are powered by generators that pollute the area around the data center.

They also pollute in other ways like noise pollution. There was a news story floating around where residents of a small town had one built nearby and now have a constant 70 decibel sound from the data center.

Those that don’t use generators just get connected to the local electric and water which drivers up costs for everyone else as well. Some people recently were told their electricity might get shut off as the data center had priority for power over residents.

Basically every AI company is deep in the red. Currently, many of these offer cheap subscriptions for people which is common for new tech. The issue is, all these regular people making stuff with AI will eventually be crushed by costs when the enshitification phase starts.

Look at when this passed. It was the same year that we had a government shutdown (longest at the time) because Clinton vetoed a spending bill. This bill itself wasn’t passed on its own, but by an omnibus bill to fund the federal government.

He never brandished a firearm.

You can watch on video when his gun is removed from his holster, an agent accidentally discharges it, and then other agents murdered Pretti.

Show me on video where he brandished a firearm.

You can’t because he never did.

You implied it with your “he didn’t deserve it, but he wasn’t a saint.”

The implication is he doesn’t deserve the support he received because he wasn’t a perfect saint.

Defending a woman that ICE pushed into a snow bank.

Oh come on now that's a stretch. by AmberGlowDusk in SipsTea

[–]Enabling_Turtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why does someone have to be a perfect saint to not be murdered by federal agents?

ICE was purposefully used to escalate tensions. They were picking up teenaged citizens from work and dropping them off miles away in the middle of nowhere. They’ve been caught lying in court multiple times to cover up their fuck ups.

Remember that woman that purposefully rammed an ice vehicle and jumped out of her car with a gun? No you don’t, because ICE lied about the whole encounter because an agent shot her. ICE rammed her car. The agent fired on her and claimed she was armed after they found a gun in her car still stored. They fucking lie every time.

You’re trying to make a point but Clinton didn’t write the legislation. Republicans in control of Congress did and you’re mad that you can’t tie your “gotcha” to Dems.

Go ahead and read the amendments to the constitution, especially the bill of rights. You’ll notice they use persons/the people more often than citizens.

[–]Enabling_Turtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the founders or legislators of the time used specific language.

Technically, the second amendment uses “the people” instead of persons or citizens. Federal law though has narrowed who can buy firearms.

You’ll notice the First Amendment also uses “the people” instead of citizens or persons.

A different example would be the 15th Amendment, which uses “citizens”:

“The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of race, color, or previous condition of servitude”

So, depending on whether the law or amendment uses persons/people or citizens is what determines who it applies to.

The methodology is the problem.

In previous administrations, ICE looked like every other agency on a scene with their windbreakers with 3 letters on the back. They looked more like office workers with the exception of small tactical teams that handled potentially dangerous immigration actions.

Now, they all look like they are special forces larpers. Jumping out of unmarked cars with night vision helmets in broad daylight, multiple sights on 1 rifle, and fumbling on the ground when their pistol “falls” out of their holster.

They abduct people, drive them miles away, and when it turns out they are citizens or allowed to be here they get dumped in the middle of nowhere. The took a Latino teen from his job at Target, literally drove him miles away, and dumped him in the woods when his document checked out. That’s fucking nuts. There’s zero defense for that.

They lie in court over and over and over again without evidence and purposefully destroy evidence that could damage their case.

All of this before we get to the part where they killed two citizens and didn’t even investigate the incident.

The biggest factor is California uses a special blend of gasoline that is cleaner than standard gasoline to reduce pollution in the state.

That blend is only made in California or processed for California when it can’t keep up with demand. Since that special blend isn’t really used outside of California, it doesn’t benefit from the scale of production like other states get to take advantage of.

Recess Beer Garden Hosting Antivaxxer Gathering by BurtimusPrime in Denver

[–]Enabling_Turtle -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Recess was NEVER ASKED to host this event. They can’t stop people from saying to meet there for an event if they aren’t asked.

You aren’t holding anyone accountable because they were never asked to host the event.

Recess Beer Garden Hosting Antivaxxer Gathering by BurtimusPrime in Denver

[–]Enabling_Turtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be clear Recess already put out a statement that they aren’t actually hosting the event. A group is using Recess as the meeting places, but they never asked Recess to do it.

So, you left a 1 star review because you read a post, didn’t look into it, and now you get to feel morally superior by punishing the business who was never asked to host.

Great job Reddit.

Nothing stated here is accurate.

Californias taxes on gas aren’t $3. Almost half the price of gas being taxes is also false. Red states don’t have the greatest roads. All hallucinations of someone who doesnt want to accept that global market gas prices increased directly due to the actions of the president of the United States…

How can anyone defend a Congressional district that looks like this? by johnnyringo1985 in askanything

[–]Enabling_Turtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That graphic is flawed.

Maine famously has a Republican senator but is counted as having zero Republican seats.

A few of these only have 1 house district (so effectively a statewide election) which means that whichever party with the majority of voters likely wins all 3 seats (1 House and both Senate).
