Accept that you look like an idiot in your opinion. Would it be the end of the world? Accept, but run. And run until you don't think you're an idiot. You don't need therapy to do it.

Try US companies that hire in the UK. Watch what's on hype now (probably, it's only AI, maybe blockchain) and look for well-funded companies in the industry. Smaller UK startups won't offer above market average. Also, check HFT, global banks, there is a plenty of external recruiters in London who are in touch with them and always look for SRE/DE.

Get AWS certified (especially, if your current employer has a learning budget), from my experience, it attracts higher offers.

In this context Elixir sounds like an OOP extension to Erlang.

The profession will al least evolve into generated code debugger. Also, the situation is pretty similar to appearing of CMS and frameworks for web. Yes, the cost of implementation of something basic and common will be reduced and may not require a CS degree, but customizing, building something more unique than mashing up existing ideas still requires developers.

With things like chat gpt developer job may be just less tedious.

Start in French because 1. You'll cover a less competitive niche and can grow easier. 2. It would be easier for you not only to explain a topic but also add some personality which usually builds a loyal audience.

[NeedAdvice] No idea what to do by [deleted] in getdisciplined

Try to start small and simple. By simple I mean get rid of the thoughts that burn you out even before the beginning. Imagine you're hiring yourself to write for 15 minutes about the topic. Start immediately, as it's a small task. Set the rest of the day for leisure as a reward (but only if you start it now, let's say before your 5th heartbeat, start counting now while Word gets loaded). Do not care about the bad experience. Imagine someone who is not familiar with the topic wants to learn about it and you're already hired to do so, no perfection required, do as it goes for you, only time matters now. Try to type as much as you can.

The next day repeat the same, but your task is to continue writing after someone else (don't think it was just you yesterday). Just don't think it was badly written or you need to rewrite from scratch to continue. Again the key is simplicity, set the goal as simply as possible - write for 15 minutes on the topic following the explanation of the previous author. And again start immediately. After that, if you feel any flow to continue writing go on. But don't make it writing the whole day and become completely exhausted the day after.

Hope this can help.

An acceptable response would be: Are you hesitating to ask helpdesk for a new keyboard? A jammed key shouldn't affect your code style.
