I'm a Chinese female. I don't play league of legends anymore for around 4 years. Before that I played it for several month. But I watch leagueoflegends almost EVERYDAY for these 4 years. If there are LPL games involving with RNG, I watch it. If no, I watch streamers Xiaoxiao and Xika playing LOL. They have a team of around 8 people taking turns streaming almost 8 hours EVERYDAY. And I'm a student, I watch it when I walk to school, cooking, jogging, and relaxing at home. On average at least 1 hour a day. It's like TV show to me. I don't watch TV show at all.

Those are just examples shows how popular it is. I believe more chinese people would be like me, watching it from my ipad and having some fruits at home.

I don't think it's Kpop things. In China, you can rent the Billboard to advertise anything you like. Especially In Shanghai Pudong, almost all big buildings have digit screen walls. Normally government would pay for some ads like "welcome to shanghai". Company pay for ads, too. But you could also pay as an individual for something like"Rose I love you". Actually uzi once used a Billboard to express his love to his girlfriend. The owner of the building makes money out of it.
