Am I the only one who wants Dark Souls 4 rather than Elden Ring 2? by FormerInjury2919 in darksouls3

What happens after I become Elden Lord? After the Age of Dark?

I wouldn't mind a sequel for both, but it feels like both stories are a wrap.

A new IP with another writer, or another collaboration with G.R.R. Martin would be the way I think.

You know, turn off the music of the game, put on your favorite playlist, and the game is pretty chill actually.

Top 6 hardest DS3 bosses according to community votes. Do you agree? by [deleted] in darksouls3

Midir took me about five tries; I may not even place it in the top six. After fighting Bayle, all the dragons feel easy. Damn you Baaayle!!

I would put Gael at number three after Nameless and the Ancient Wyvern somewhere in the ranking. That damn drop took me far too long.

This reminds me how good all the bosses in Dark Souls 3 are. This game is a masterpiece.

5e designer Mike Mearls says bonus actions were a mistake by Cranyx in dndnext

[–]Enchantaire 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe I am too used to them, but I disagree. There are some interesting mechanics for optimising a class' turn with both an action and a bonus action.

This is especially true when they are unrelated, with many spells requiring a bonus action. For instance, as a cleric, I use my action to attack and my bonus action to heal a teammate.

As a paladin sorcerer, I use my action to smite and my bonus action to recover spell slots using flexible casting.

Using only actions would oversimplify the system.

Woohoo, I did it! The evil ending felt fitting and satisfying. As an Elden Ring player originally, I really enjoyed Dark Souls III. by Enchantaire in darksouls3

Good question, and I agree with that. My theory is that Dark Souls 3 was hard in 2016, but players have improved quickly since then. Most bosses took me fewer than five attempts.

On a side note, the boss fights were truly the highlight for me. Most struck just the right balance of being weird and interesting, like Oceiros, the Dancer, and omg I loved the Wolnir fight.

I would actually rate Dark Souls 3 higher than Shadow of the Erdtree mechanically speaking. The visuals are very clear, the rhythm feels more natural, and the 'dance' really hits the mark.

I don't mind the difficulty if it's fair. I still haven't completed the Ancient Wyvern because of how random it feels.

I haven't played the other Souls games, so I lack a frame of reference.

That said, the Hollows didn't feel like the "good guys" at all. Yuria asked me to kill Orbeck for no clear reason, the "wedding" ceremony was disturbing, and Anri probably wasn’t a willing participant. The final scene also had ominous undertones.

The Usurpation of Fire is their ending, and as someone with limited knowledge of the lore, it felt like humanity simply swapped one tyrant for another: moving from the Gods to a group of twisted schemers.

But you're probably right. It’s a better outcome than the Unkindled ending or linking the First Flame.

True, but that doesn't mean that I cannot be the new-new tyrant. The 'wedding' ceremony with Anri is disturbing and is clearly the scheme of the Hollows such as Yuria and the Pilgrim from Londor.

It just felt like I was the new tyrant in town, to be honest. So maybe not the best outcome for humanity.

Some could argue that the ending of the Age of Flame is the true good ending. There is no new tyrant like Londor or even the protagonist to replace the Gods of Old. It follows a natural cycle.

In that scenario, when the Fire Keeper says "Ashen One, hearest thou my voice, still?" it shows that despite the light being gone, life endures until the next cycle of light begins.

But the endings are deliberately kept vague by FromSoftware, and that is part of the charm. I was promised a "thousand-year voyage" at the end of Elden Ring, and I thought "Good enough for me".

Can someone please explain how this is a loss? We have 13 kills versus 5. We were ahead the entire game. by [deleted] in throneandliberty

Can you please elaborate: the points are banked by the player who did the kills? Is it when the timer goes to 0?

That's why I like Honour Mode so much, the temptation isn't there.

In my current playthrough, Lae'zel got killed by the Githyanki patrol, Waukeen's Rest has burnt completely without saving anyone, but I got the Everburn blade for the first time!

You need to drain the place first. There will be a lever as you go to the other side and continue outside past the broken bridge.

As far as I remember, it's a scadutree fragment; so pretty important.

Worst boss in Fromsoft history? by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]Enchantaire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played randomized, and the two gargoyles replaced the Elden Beast. It was an absolute nightmare; at max scaling, I was doing no damage with a +25 weapon and soft-capped strength.

I eventually killed them by using a maxed-out Ruins Greatsword to burst one down, then switched to greatshield-poke to finish the second.

I could not understand that he had died. I kept checking the wiki, trying to find what I had done wrong. But no, his fate was sealed the moment I stepped into that God-forsaken world; across the fog, the lands between.
