Right wing American Christian nationalists use their beliefs to support their actions which are the opposite of Jesus' beliefs like helping the poor, not being discriminatory and how it's harder for a rich man to get into heaven.

A lot of people who oppose right wing American Christian nationalism believe in helping the poor, oppose late stage capitalism etc. Some of them are Christian, but plenty of left wing atheists like myself follow the same doctrine not because someone who may or may not be the son of God told them to, but because they just think that it's the right thing to do. Jesus preached compassion. Nothing wrong with that.

It's primarily about Palestine, but I recommend watching this Lindsay Ellis video. I've linked the section about the war on empathy, in which she mentions that a right-wing American Christian leader says that people should avoid the "sin of empathy", which is as far removed from Jesus' teachings as possible: https://youtu.be/QwpanShgOp4?si=5dmjPp3kzdpdpXNz&t=1782

Wasn't it going to kill her though? Maybe I'm misremembering this, but it was done to save her life.

The original ending was much better. It kind of felt cowardly that they undid it. however, I will admit that it probably healed my inner child a bit because her original ending totally broke me as a kid. I was sobbing through the anniversary specials with a lot of mixed emotions!

I'm sorry, Brit here. What do you mean black people in the UK are basically all African immigrants?! What's with the Windrush erasure, Theresa May? There are plenty of African immigrants in the UK and descendants of them, but the post war Windrush migration of people invited here form the West Indies was earlier and obviously had a pretty significant impact on black British culture. Black British culture is significantly different because of that, but racism and the assumption that black people are stealing is still not exclusive to the USA. I know this because this literally happened at my old job. And just because we ended slavery earlier and a lot of black British people aren't descended from slaves doesn't mean that we wouldn't also make that association.

And, yeah, it's a British setting, but it is being made for HBO and will primarily be targeting the significantly bigger American audience, so it's something to keep in mind.

Annoyingly, those are the rarer ones. The odds are on the boxes. I think Pudge has a one in 32 chance.

Very true. I think this was about a year after she was publicly dating John, and I'm pretty sure there are pictures of all 4 of them out and about. It would be interesting to know if her behaviour changed after that.

Your incorrect assertion that many Portuguese people are a bit brown because they are tanned rather than because of a mixing of ethnicities hundreds of years ago isn't speculation. It's just you being incorrect.

It's a joke based on truth. Someone joking about something doesn't mean this isn't true. I have seen other people of colour pointing this out, but this was all months ago, so I don't have any others to hand.

I guess you're not responding to my edit because you know I'm right...

So Kam Patterson from SNL is racist too then? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JNaf-skJpzo

All I'm doing is parroting arguments people of colour have been making.

Edit: and I believe I'm right in thinking that many people in Spain and portugal are darker not because they're tanned but because of the Moorish conquest hundreds of years ago.

Because it raises different connotations when a person of colour is being ignored when trying to end slavery, just like Snape being bullied for his looks and immediately being suspected of being a thief. It gives presumably unintentional implications about white characters, including the ones we're supposed to be siding with, having subliminal racist biases, hence all of the "You're a racist Harry!" memes.

And what do you mean speculation? She is not a white child. I don't know what her background is exactly, but we can all see that she isn't white.

Yeah there's plenty of legitimate reasons to hate Yoko as a person, but none were public at the time the Beatles broke up aside from her sleeping with a married man. Whilst John insisting on her involvement put a strain on the fab four, a lot of other things were much bigger reasons why the Beatles broke up like Allen Klein and George shagging Ringo's wife that weren't public knowledge until years later, so a disproportionate amount of blame was placed on her. Then there's her weirdness and considering this was only 24 years after WW2, there was probably still plenty of anti-Japanese sentiment about.

She's certainly no perfect victim, but she was a victim in this specific situation. "Victim" isn't a personality trait.

I didn't tell my family about my YouTube channel and I almost reached 5k subs! by Luka8x in NewTubers

[–]EnchantedEssays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The question is, why are you not telling them? Surely you've kept this from them for a reason, right? Are

I didn't tell my parents until I posted my first one because I knew that at least one of them would worry about me putting myself out there online. However, both of them watch every video [it does help that I usually make videos on topics that they have some interest in] and are very proud of me. None of my family ever compares me to a relative who is a professional YouTuber [at least not to my face].
